Today marked a historic first – Meghan’s first appearance as an official member of the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan and Harry, attended a Garden Party in the gardens of Buckingham Palace which were held to celebrate the Prince of Wales’ 70th Birthday and his work during that time for his patronages and military work.

Meghan and Harry joined Harry’s father, the Prince of Wales and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, at the event. There certainly were many laughs and smiles shared across the event.

As we have always said, Meghan is a fan of “polished imperfection”, and this dress’s frayed edge seams allowed her to still stay true to who she was when adjusting to who she will be as the Duchess of Sussex. It was her first foray – and a big one at that at Buckingham Palace – and we loved that she still stayed true to certain of her previous style elements while trying to figure out this whole Duchess thing. (Oh, and for the record? We’re not fans of the pantyhose either)

Love Meghan’s look today? We asked the team to come up with some of their favourite #MirrorMeg options:

What did you think of Meghan’s look for her first Garden Party?
** Please note that this is a draft of the post which will be finalized as more pictures & details are available. Stay tuned! **
And it could be as simple as she simply fell in love with a person who happens to have born royal. Her “inner royal” doesn’t necessarily mean that she has to transform from Meghan Markle to Meghan Marple. As mentioned in previous posts there are plenty of royals who have managed to present a modern, fresh approach while maintaining conventional standards. As to warning us naysayers of this last look off this page, which is what I presume you meant in your post; I wasn’t aware that this blog was a royal fan page, but rather a blog devoted to HRH Meghan’s style which would certainly include it’s certain evolution and permutations. Should the admins advise that your advice is indeed, correct, I will then, regretfully, continue to follow MM’s style on other sites in the future.
Seriously, you see my comment as a warning? Calm down, dear lol. I was responding to Jessica’s considered post. You’ve already expressed your views several times here, no one can be in any doubt about them. The warning signs I’m seeing are from your own unprompted enthusiasm for repeating yourself on comments you disagree with. Btw Letizia just did all-over pale pink and baggy in the Caribbean and CP Mary did even more shapeless in a navy tent. Neither were stand-out looks.
Hi Gabriela,
You are absolutely correct – we are a style blog looking at Meghan’s style which will inevitably morph as Meghan does into her new role. We love the feedback on what people did and didn’t like about her looks and think everyone can have an opinion about it, and we welcome the good and the bad as long as it’s done respectfully by everyone.

And we are back to the “calm down, dear, lol” bon mot, which has already been used, unsuccessfully, I might add, originality is not going to get high marks today I’m afraid. As to my “unprompted enthusiasm”, I didn’t know I needed to wait for for an invitation to respond, I guess I should follow your lead…oh wait, never mind.
Bertie, I usually enjoy your comments for their observations. I like to read comments about what Meghan wore, whether I agree with them or not, it’s interesting to read others’ opinions. If this site turns into “let’s oh and ah over everything Meghan wears/
does, it will be incredibly boring. If I read one more comment with a condescending opening – “calm down, dear” – I’ll skip it and hope that admin steps up so this site remains a forum for people to exchange opinions, and not a site where those that do not worship everything Meghan wears/ does are at the receiving end of condescension.
Hi Lawmom,
Couldn’t agree more about the exchange of information – we are ALL ABOUT the discussion that happens in the comments, and love to hear all the differences of opinions on Meghan’s style. Style is such a personal thing that we’d never expect everyone to love everything she wears all the time, but we can expect everyone to be respectful. We’ve never had any issues before and in the effort of trying to keep things as they have been, we put in place a new Comments Policy to try and keep Meghan’s Mirror the forum for the exchange of opinions on all things Meghan’s style 🙂
We will be starting to moderate comments going forward and love to hear your thoughts – keep ’em coming!
Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Thank you Lawmom and Gabriela. I’m about to leave this page too because of certain commenters – hope I don’t have to.
Finally! So happy to see the style breakdown and the total cost tag was a bonus. This small change has improve the blog so much. Now I can’t stop looking at this post. Everything looks so much better. Thanks.
So glad to hear it Susan! Happy we could help – will continue to do it in posts to come (just bear with us as it might not be as quick as the posts when they first pop up, but we’ll add them in for you :))

The bracelet has been identified as the Essential Line Bracelet from Cartier. It’s 18K white gold, set with 61 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 3.34 carats, and retails for $20,600.00.
Hi Madison,
Thanks for sharing! It’s only been “reported” to have been that bracelet that we have seen… And we’re not entirely convinced. Hi-res photos of the bracelet show a gold clasp which doesn’t exist on the Cartier models we’ve seen.
But… Perhaps you’ve seen something we haven’t? Can you share any more details about the identification confirmation?
Thanks for being a reader and visiting the blog!

First off, I love the blog, it’s my guilty pleasure.
As for the bracelet, I have poured over hi-res photos as well and I agree that the clasp does appear gold in most. However, if you look at the few available photos of the clasp in the sunlight away from her clutch and her dress the clasp loses its gold hue.
Meghan has worn a lot of Cartier in the past week. I believe the bracelet has been identified correctly because of the frequency with which she has worn Cartier previously, the look of the bracelet, the way the bracelet lies, and the look of the clasp itself. Perhaps the bracelet is bespoke to include the mix of metals that we have seen Meghan favor before.
The bracelet Meghan wore during her wedding ceremony is said to be a bespoke version of the Reflection de Cartier bracelet, which is another mark in favor of this bracelet being the Essential Lines bracelet just bespoke. However I could be totally off the mark here.
Nice work if you can get it! And highly appropriate for a Duchess on her wedding day 🙂
I think she looked nice & appropriate for the event. The dress could have used an alteration, I think we all agree on that. Her stylist has her work cut out for her. We all raked her over the coals for wearing a party dress to a church memorial service & the message seems to have been heard. The tights…I think they go with the pale outfit & it’s up to her to decide when to tight & when not to tight. She dressed up & looked good, way to go Meghan.
