As part of a special collaboration between Meghan’s Mirror and UFO No More, all of the pieces that Meghan Markle wore in one of her last interviews, in August 2016 with Good Housekeeping, have been identified! The fun, stylish shoot from 2016 was full of very different looks, fun summer style and was meticulously styled. It’s worth noting that these looks are all part of a photoshoot – but Meghan had a hand in the styling selections and we thought it would be fun to share.
We paired up with our good friends at UFO No More to figure out exactly what pieces Meghan wore and then broke them down for you. Need to have that gingham peplum tank? We’ve got you covered. Loving those red heels? Us too – and they’re under $100. If you’re not familiar with UFO No More, they’re a group of ladies who are remarkable at finding and identifying clothing both new and old – in this case, they have really dug into the archives of the internet to help us pull together all these looks for you. What is a UFO? UFO stands for Unidentified Fashion Object and is how royal bloggers refer to pieces of which the designer is unknown. Their goal is to find all those UFO pieces- making them UFO No More.
Here are all the looks from the Good Housekeeping Shoot, broken down with the pieces that Meghan wore in them.

Wow! Thank you for this amazing post!
Meghan looks stylish, chic and classy in these photos. She is also not that much thin (like now) and her eyebrows are thicker. (I think she needs to make them thick again asap!)
It is just 2 years but she looks many years younger than now…
I love her 2016 style!

But this was a photo shoot. So it’s not a true representation of her style is it?

Hi Amy!
Definitely was a photoshoot – and one with a stylist – however Meghan was often very much involved in the style directions for photoshoots and often chose the pieces she wore or the manner in which they were styled. We try to cover a wide variety of Meghan’s past style choices, including from fashion shoots, but would love your feedback if you feel this isn’t something we should cover on the blog. We love to hear what everyone thinks.
Have a great Thursday!

A photo-shoot tends to be a chance to dress up so just because Meghan wore these clothes doesn’t mean that she would wear these in reality, the same goes for promos and red carpet events. I think a piece like this is tricky as it can lead people to believe that this photo-shoot is indicative of her style before she got married and a sign that she has style has totally deviated from what it was before she became a royal. These pieces are useful in showing people the different style options available but emphasis should be placed on the fact that this is a photo-shoot and not a guide to Meghan’s style.

Hi Amy,
Thanks for the great feedback! We’ll edit some of the verbiage and make sure that we clarify in future posts 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Thanks for such a nice post MM!! I could see Meghan wearing the striped jersey dress with tennis shoes and the overalls with the striped shirt but other than that the rest is a bit too “colorful” maybe for Meghan. Now, all that being said I think people’s taste’s and style can and do change with age, circumstance, where they live, what they watch on tv, etc, so it’s quite possible that the clothes we see Meghan wearing now aren’t the clothes she might have worn 2 years ago or will wear 2 years from now. So I guess what I’m trying to say is that we shouldn’t put people into specific fashion/style boxes that they can never get out of. I for one am really looking forward to Meghan’s style/fashion evolution as much as I look forward to her charity/royal evolution.

I liked this post too and would definitely be interested in seeing more like it, but I also noticed the impracticality of some of the outfits, for example shorts with a knitted sweater and overalls (which would only be appropriate in the most ultra-casual setting) with stilettos. It’s still great to use for style inspiration but good to keep in mind that it is a photo shoot and not anything that was ever worn in a real life setting.

I live in a rural community and depending on the time of day or season it’s not uncommon to see people wearing sweaters with shorts, personally I can’t stand it when my shoulders are cold but don’t mind it when my legs are cold. 🙂

I love these looks, but are they still available? I clicked on the “shop” button for the red Aritzia sweater and it just took me to their website. You and the UFO ladies did a super detective job! Are there any dupes out there that we cab buy?

Hi Jenna! Some of the pieces are, but others aren’t and we link to the closest product we can find. That Aritzia sweater is long sold out 🙁
