With only 9 days left until the Royal Wedding, there is so much excitement in the air – especially around fashion and one special dress. Is Meghan really going to wear a Ralph & Russo dress? What will the style be like? All we know for sure is that, like everything else Meghan wears, we expect it to be stunning.
While we know for sure that Meghan will be coming to the ceremony in a white dress (or shade of white dress, we’re thinking off-white), we still also don’t know what the bridal party or other guests will wear. In fact, we don’t know much about the private guest list, so all we can speculate for sure on are members of the royal family… and Prianka Chopra!
We thought we’d take a slight deviation from pure Meghan style today to look at the possible outfits that four other women might wear to the Royal Wedding: the Duchess of Cambridge (the former Kate Middleton), Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and Her Majesty the Queen. What will these four royal women wear as they visit St. George’s Castle next Saturday?
HRH The Duchess of Cambridge
We’re not sure that at only a few weeks postpartum that we would want to be standing up in front of the world (and in family photos!) but then again, we’re not the Duchess of Cambridge who famously has stood outside the hospital where she’s delivered her children mere hours later looking every inch the future Queen Consort of England. There is little doubt in our minds that Kate will be stylishly attired for her brother-in-law’s wedding and that she will be looking as perfect as we have come to expect of her… Although maybe in a dress that is slightly more forgiving at the middle; she did have a baby less than a month ago.
Kate tends to stick to delicate textures and patterns like lace and florals – although as a wedding guest at her sister’s wedding she chose a very muted pink colour, we think partially so as to not distract too much from the bride… Something we see her repeating at Harry and Meghan’s wedding. We think she could pull out a fit and flare silhouette, perhaps in an empire waist line, to allow for a little less focus to be around her recovering stomach. We also think she’ll pull out a pair of her trademark nude heels to elongate the legs and coordinate with almost any colour dress she chooses. We can see Kate wearing a shade of pink for Meghan and Harry’s big day.

And for a fun budget-friendly look if you’re looking for ideas of your own, we love this Iggy Dress by Weekday. It’s floral (check for special occasion Kate), comfortable (check for postpartum Kate) and only £55 (check for budget loving Kate!)
HRH Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie
There is little doubt in our minds that you’ll remember the fabulous fascinators that Beatrice and Eugenie pulled out for their cousin Prince William’s wedding back in 2011. The Royal sisters are known for their love of bold colours, playful prints and a hat that will complete the look.
We think Beatrice and Eugenie will stick with looks that they are comfortable with, perhaps choosing slightly more elegant lace patterns in a fun colour rather than a more bold choice. We can also definitely see polka dots as a possibility. And as for hats? We think their motto of “more is more” will definitely be showcased!

And for a fun, wild, completely out there dress? We’d love to see one of the girls in a bold pattern like this Carolina Herrera dress. The girls love polka dots and this would definitely make a statement!
Her Majesty the Queen
We can be pretty much assured that the matriarch will not only look stunningly well put together in a perfectly coordinated outfit in the same colour family. What is left to the imagination is just what that tonal family will be. Greens? Pinks? Blues? Yellows, like she wore for William’s wedding?
We think that Her Majesty will choose a bright colour for the special day where she sees her beloved grandson marry the love of his life. There will almost certainly be a hat that matches her coat and dress, as well as a small trusty handbag that is carried in her gloved hands. Oh, and diamonds. There will be diamonds. While her outfit will most definitely be bespoke by her personal dressmaker, we had some fun looking at colours we’d love to see on Her Majesty.

And since we don’t have access to the royal jewelry vaults, we can always dream. The Queen loves a good brooch, and this Kenneth Jay Lane option is good for those of us without royal coffers while still being a good quality piece.
We will be covering all the royal guest arrivals starting from 9am in London on May 19th! Be sure to join along with us as we share in all the pomp, celebration and style on Royal Wedding day.

Thanks for the fun posts MM!!! I’m getting so excited for the wedding and can’t believe we’re only a little over a week away!!!
As far as guest’s fashion, I’d have to say that I’m most looking forward to seeing what Doria and Camilla choose. I simply loved Camilla’s coat dress at W&K’s wedding, the colors were muted but stunning and the cut/style of this coat dress really suits Camilla and has almost become her signature style. On to Doria…I have to wonder what she’s thinking about all this?! I can’t even imagine trying to select a mother-of-the-bride dress for a BRF wedding!! And an outfit to meet the “family” and another for the evening reception!! My head spins just thinking about it! We know so little about her personal style, outside of yoga clothes that she’s frequently photographed in, that it will be fun to see what she wears and what style of hat she decides to go with. Oh I’m so excited!!!
I’d love to see Eugenie in Vivian Westwood, her creations fit Eugenie to a tee and really highlight her fabulous figure! I do wonder if Beatrice will wear another “moose antler’ fascinator? We don’t have much longer to wait and see!

For Kate, I like this dress (which, if she still has her tummy, it will hide it somewhat):

with this hat (in blue to coordinate): https://maggiemowbraymillinery.co.uk/collections/spring-summer-18-millinery/products/rose-splash?variant=7379921240127
and even though I know it’s not her “style”, I’d love to see the blue with this purse:https://www.farfetch.com/uk/shopping/women/alexander-mcqueen-knuckle-clasp-box-clutch-item-12901974.aspx?storeid=9306&from=listing&tglmdl=1

I love the styles you choose for Beatrice and Eugenie! I especially like the polka dot dress. But you forgot to pair the frocks with some whacky head gear! I realize it is customary for female wedding guests to don chapeaus for these evenst, but I hope these two tone it down a bit this time. Any fashion choices for Meghan’s Mom? I like the pink jacket with the coordinating pumps you chose for the Queen as a possible for Doria, since she doesn’t appear to much of a “stiletto” type gal. Maybe the jacket paired with a chiffon knife pleated skirt topped off with a cute pillbox or fascinator.

Thanks for the stream of background posts, they really help in the wedding build-up! It’s fun to think about guest attire. While I love your floral Weekday frock I would expect Kate to use a repeat to keep focus off herself, though hopefully not the washed-out number she wore to Pippa’s wedding. I sincerely hope the York sisters manage to rein in their enthusiasm a bit, given the relatively small-scale setting and less formal occasion. I’m hoping the pretzel hat is a thing of the past.
And the Queen will simply look her immaculate best. Given she sticks to the coat-and-dress with hat combo it ‘s amazing how many variations her designer comes up with. Whatever it is I know it will fit the occasion — the lady is a pro!
