While reports have flown around that Meghan and Harry have been travelling across North America, their home base with baby Archie remains on Vancouver Island, a peaceful hideaway on the beautiful West Coast of Canada.
Vancouver Island and London have remarkably similar winter weather patterns – lots of rain, a little snow, a bone chilling dampness and many days of grey skies. It means Meghan will likely turn to some of the warmer pieces from her existing closet, and some more casual pieces as she spends time with her family before stepping out into her new adventures. We thought we’d look back at some of her previous style picks to see how Meghan might be finding creative ways to style winter on the West Coast.
We were not surprised to see a return of Meghan’s classic Barbour ‘Epler’ Coat on her as she visited Vancouver recently. We saw the coat in both 2017 in Toronto and 2020 in Vancouver for good reason. The weatherproof exterior keeps you dry, while the inner wadding keeps you warm – an essential combination for the damp chills of a West Coast winter. The coat is a few seasons old, so difficult to track down from retailers, but you can find loads of similar Barbour styles (like the Bridport or the Garrison)
We also weren’t surprised to see that Meghan has reverted to some boot choices that we’ve seen before. We couldn’t help but spot her trusty pair of winter Kamik plaid print boots – that she’s worn again in both Toronto and Vancouver – as she was out with Archie in January. The boots are super warm (our Editorial Editor, Amanda, has a pair and can vouch!) and they are also made with durable rubber around the bottom which ensures that your feet stay dry even if you step in a puddle.
And with Meghan and Harry doing a large amount of travelling to kick off their new lives (like having headed to both Miami and California recently), there’s undoubtedly some of Meghan’s favourite travel pieces making their repeated appearance. We’d not be surprised to see her orange Stow travel wallet or her Ebby Rane luggage make the trip with her.
And when she’s back home, comfortable and relaxing with Archie? We’d love to think that she’s turned to some of her more casual, comfortable pieces. Perhaps even with a nod to local BC-brands like Aritzia, Kit and Ace or Lululemon? Meghan has worn several pieces from Kit and Ace (and used their candles!) in the past, and their comfortable pieces would be perfect for playing with – and chasing after – baby.
One thing is for sure – we will see Meghan and Harry when they’re ready to reveal what they and their Foundation have in store. Until then, we’ll continue to ogle some of Meghan’s best fashion looks from the past to merge into her new reality.

Thanks MM for continuing to bring us fashion tips and inspiration from the Duchess’ wardrobe! I love Meghan’s casual look and have incorporated many of these pieces into my own wardrobe and when that wasn’t possible, I’ve been inspired to “shop” my own wardrobe to match Meghan’s casual yet “put together “ vibe.
While I completely respect Meghan’s desire for privacy, I do hope that we’ll get to see her and Harry out again soon! And I’m really looking forward to the launch of their foundation! I bet it will be something special!
