Today, Meghan made an appearance – with a very special small visitor!- to cheer on Prince Harry as he played polo today in the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day at Billingbear Polo Club, Wokingham, Berkshire.
Meghan’s look was perfectly casual for a day at polo as a new mum! The relaxed, loose-fitting dress was undoubtedly a comfortable choice and the linen fabric kept it cool for the hot summer day. We loved seeing not only how comfortable Meghan looked in the style, but with her new son.

Love Meghan’s look today? We asked the team to come up with some of their favourite #MirrorMeg options:
What did you think of Meghan’s look for polo with Baby Archie?
em moss says
What shoes is she wearing?
admin says
We haven’t seen a good photo of them, Em! Sadly. From the quick glance we got, they looked to be a wedge/espadrille of some kind in a tan material – but that is just a guess.
OG SG says
I usually love Meghan’s style but this may be the worst thing she has ever worn. In many pictures, it looks like a wrinkled tent. I totally get her wanting to wear something comfy and not form fitting after birth, but there are so many options other than this one that don’t cost over $500. I do love her sunglasses and the wee bebeh is adorable.
Sunni says
I agree, a sg. I don’t know if was the colour or the fit.
And no hat or visor, to protect little Archie from the sunshine???????????????
admin says
Hi Ladies!
Interestingly, I’ve (Amanda) tried on this dress! It was not flattering on my figure, but I think possibly if we had seen images of Meghan without her holding Archie (and without wind gusts!) from the front, we may have different thoughts about the fit. It’s unquestionably a looser, casual dress than we’ve usually seen her in – but if you look at some of the models wearing the dress – I’ve attached an image here – it’s well-cut. Hopefully we will see her in it again one day!

Agreed, this was a mess, sigh!

Be silent… she is a new mother that wants to be comfortable and Meghan is probably not use to her current size , so she doesn’t know how to dress for her size. She looks beautiful and happy. I am so sick you over critical racists.
em says
Racists?! 😀
D says
As a Black woman who clearly sees the racism in the criticism of Meghan I have to disagree here. I love Meghan and what she stands for, and her style took me some time to get on board with, but the consensus is speaking the truth…this outfit was a total MISS! And, it has NOTHING to do with race.
admin says
Hi Raisa,
We noticed that this is your first time commenting on the site, so wanted to clarify something – namely that we think you *may* be misconstruing comments about Meghan’s fashion choices as comments about Meghan herself. We welcome comments about the fashion (you don’t have to love everything Meghan wears, we are completely fine with fashion choices not being everyone’s favourite) but have a zero tolerance policy for hurtful comments about Meghan or characteristics about Meghan (ie. race, weight, identity, etc.) We have an entire page dedicated to our Comment Policy you can check out: Link
As mothers ourselves, we completely understand that being a new mother – and dealing with a new mother’s changing body – is incredibly challenging and it’s also an incredibly personal journey. We think Meghan is navigating this new reality with her usual aplomb, and while many of our readers loved the casual, loose dress from yesterday’s outing – others did not. We don’t see any of the previous comments as being discriminatory towards Meghan, however, simply individuals stating they didn’t like Meghan’s fashion choices, which is the type of conversation and discussion that this site is all about.
We will, as always, continue to monitor the comment areas, and if you’d like to discuss further (or think we have overlooked/missed something), please don’t hesitate to reach out: info@meghansmirror.com
Have a great day!
Amanda & Christine

I think we enjoy civilised discussion here on the topic of Meghan’s fashion picks, which is the declared focus of the site, and I myself enjoy hearing from all sides of the argument. I think we can do that without attaching other agendas to comments especially when they tress their support for Meghan. Long live Meghan’s Mirror!
OG SG says
It is racist to critique her dress? Please. Like I said, I usually love her style. But without the belt, this looks shapeless, and it seems too big for her. I just think there are loose and comfortable outfits that are more attractive than this one.
jen says
this one will go straight to Oprah …
Susanne says
Do you know what ‘racist’ even means? Criticizing MM’s poor clothing choices has absolutely nothing to do with her black/white skin.
Elle says
I agree! This dress looks like an ‘Army tent’ and perhaps 2-3 sizes too large, and where is the belt? I generally think Meghan looks great, but I am not a fan of this choice. It’s obviously she is heavier, but by no means ‘fat,’ but this dress makes her look much larger than she actually is.
Bertie says
I like this colour on Meghan and I salute her for choosing comfort over formality in her own downtime. I like her McCartney aviator sunglasses, very cool, and I think her hair looks to be getting ever longer, as does Kate’s in the same range of pictures. In this case of course Archie is Meghan’s best accessory and it’s fabulous to see him again so soon after the weekend and to see the two mums making sure their young get to know each other right from the start. A lovely treat to see all this today.

Hi Bertie,
Funnily enough, I (Amanda) was just debating cutting my hair off yesterday (the summer heat was getting to me!) but Meghan’s looks so great that I may stall the cut for a bit and just get a trim… And yes, it was such a nice treat to see Meghan and Archie, wasn’t it?! We’re looking forward to seeing Meghan on the red carpet on Sunday. No doubt she’ll look amazing!
Happy Thursday!

Oh dear . She is really letting down the team in this mess. It’s just not on and I’m a big fan .

I loved this look! I am also currently post-baby this summer and I would absolutely loved to have worn this today. The color compliments her gorgeous skin, she looks like a happy, cool, and natural mama out supporting dada for the day. Love love love!
Victoria says
I love this look on her — perfect color for her and also its in a comfortable looking summery linen. She looks very modern. Who wants to wear silk and fitted to a polo match on a hot day? Great choice!
Gigi says
I love this look! As Meghan is on maternity leave and this was a private occasion I wonder if I should comment at all. We all deserve the space to dress as we please in our private lives. In any case, I think she looks lovely. The colour is chic, the silhouette so modern and unfussy. Relaxed and comfortable is just what is called for post pregnancy in summer! Even though it’s an oversized look it actually fits (unlike previous outfits which are just too big on her). One thing I have noticed is she seems to have a serious weakness for sunglasses – she must have quite the collection now!
Bertie says
I’m glad several of us here are happy with this look on Meghan, and I agree wtih admin above that if the dress were photographed from a different angle it might have looked very different. I’m with you also on feeling uncomfortable about commenting on private photos, but this was a semi-public occasion where the royals will have known there would be banks of photographers eager to snap every celeb who turned up to cheer on the team.! I think it was informal enough that I wouldn’t apply the same standards to an outfit worn to a polo match as to a big state occasion, and I think Meghan’s dress fits into the extra leeway available. I thought she looked just great and a very happy mummy 🙂
Anne says
Oh wow! I absolutely love this look! The dress is perfect for the occasion. Love the colour, and well don’t forget, 2 months ago she has given birth.. probably her body is changing, and then you want to wear comfortable clothing, no tight fitting dresses but loose and comfortable. She did well, that is my opinion.
Shersha says
Dear Amanda and Christine, congratulations on the updated site! It looks clean, fresh and very streamlined. Love it. I agree with several of the other comments in that for me this is a family rather than formal event therefore the Duchess can be more relaxed in her choice of outfit. I think she looks fantastic, relaxed and happy and her hair looks especially gorgeous. It is wonderful to see both families and their beautiful children enjoying the day together .
admin says
Hi Shersha,
Thanks for such kind words on the redesign! We had heard some feedback that the site wasn’t as easy to navigate on mobile devices and wanted to make it a better experience for everyone (and we’re total suckers for clean & streamlined!)
xo,

I agree with others who think this look did her no favors. As a new mom myself I feel for her though. It is not easy to look in your closet and NOTHING fits like it used to! With that being said, given her resources, I know there are better ways to dress comfortably and in a way that would compliment her more than this dress did. As for the difference in how it looks on the model – the model is wearing it belted to give it shape and I don’t think Meghan did. In photos of her from the back there is no belt.

Loved the color think dress is beautiful but not easy to photograph

Meghan’s look for this event = No. Seeing Meghan out with baby Archie = YES!!!!

Does anyone know where Archie’s yellow-trim blanket is from? I’m in love with it!
