To commemorate Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, two family photographs were released by Clarence House. The photographs featured Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, along with William and Kate, Meghan and Harry, and George, Charlotte, and Louis cuddled around their grandparents.

Meghan wore a simple and elegant shift dress from Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. The dress code was clear – navy and white for the grown ups, light blue for the little ones, which created an adorable, almost-normal, color-coordinated family photo.

What did you think of Meghan’s first official Royal Family portrait?
LOVE this look and portrait! The family is beautiful and coordinates perfectly. Especially love Meghan’s dress – it’s such a classic look and so quintessentially Meghan.
Great dress…I hope to see it again post-baby.
What a lovely family portrait!! Everyone look so relaxed and happy! Is it just me or does the glint in Harry’s eye tell us that he already knows that he’s going to be a father soon? I really like how in this picture we get to see each woman’s individual style at work.
I hope we get to see arrival photos from tonights gala!! And I’m really hoping against hope that the palace releases a portrait of the larger, extended Windsor family, with all the new members it’s time.
The portrait is quite nice, but Meghan looks out of place since the rest of the people are quite coordinated and she looks like she wandered in after work.
Meghan looks out of place? Now why would that be? Kate is the one wearing the shirt dress, which is a more informal dress, or work dress. Meghan is the dressier one.
That “would be” because literally the first thing I noticed in the picture were her bare arms when Camilla and Kate are wearing long sleeves, and covered arms seem more appropriate. Also, everyone (apart from Camilla) is wearing shades of blue but Camilla’s doesn’t have any other color or contrast so it blends in as very neutral. Further, the sharp horizontal lines of the shoulder and belt of Meghan’s dress are a strong line to have in a photograph. Finally, the dress just looks like a work dress (I have something very similar, as do lots of other women I work with). That’s why it looks like she came from work and not dressed for a family portrait. I don’t particularly care for Kate’s dress either the shirt color echo what the men are wearing and her arms are covered. Also, this is “MeghansMirror” not “WhatKateWore.”
Why do people always bring Kate down in order to make a point about Meghan? I happen to like them both and find it sooooo annoying.
Imho, if anyone looks out of place it’s Will and Harry. Everyone else is more “dressed” and they both went casual, without ties and open shirts. Charles has on a suit, tie and handkerchief as he usually does and the ladies each wore dresses that express their personal style and looked stunning to boot!
The Duke of Windsor is not a “casual” kind of guy and he is rarely photographed without a tie unless of course, he is in polo or hunting garb! Chuckled at the comment that Meghan looks like she stopped off after work, I have to agree and the bare arms hmmm. The bright white of Meghan’s dress and her bare arms makes her stand out from everyone else. Meghan has a habit of staring directly into the camera. Even in candid shots, she manages to find the lens and look directly at the photographer. Most photographers suggest that you look over their shoulder to avoid that “deer in the headlights” look.
Duke of Windsor?? He’s been dead many a year now, did you mean Prince of Wales?
Oh for heaven’s sake, stand down.
