Meghan and Harry later joined members of the British royal family for a traditional church service at Westminster Abbey celebrating Commonwealth Day.

If you missed it, earlier today Meghan and Harry stepped out to celebrate Commonwealth Day today at the Canadian Embassy meeting with Canadians living in Britain and taking part in activities to celebrate the Canadian heritage. All those details are here.

Meghan wore a bespoke Victoria Beckham look for the ceremony, in a cream colour palette with a very Jackie O style pillbox hat. Many will note that Meghan changed out of a green Erdem look for the Canadian Embassy events into this one – our guess is that this may be a sartorial move (Erdem is led by a Canadian-born designer who now resides in London, while Victoria Beckham is a British designer) and while it may not quell the debate over her bespoke maternity wardrobe, it definitely offers us a glimpse into her style ethos as she enjoys her last few months of pregnancy.

Love Meghan’s look today? We asked the team to come up with some of their favourite #MirrorMeg options:

I think this look is stunning. The cream palate with the touches of green are perfect, especially since she picked up the green in the dress with her heels and clutch. The pillbox hat is fantastic. Hopefully we’ll be able to see more angles of this later in the day.
I can see the reasoning behind the change but I don’t love this and definitely prefer the earlier look. I usually like Victoria Beckham’s designs, too. The coat is nice but I am not that into the dress or the pattern, and to me, with her hair parted in the middle like that, she looks like a nurse in that hat. The green pumps are a nice change from nude/cream/blush, but this look is just not great for me.
I guess she had to change to wear a hat..but a black pillbox with the green outfit would have worked!
A black hat (pillbox or not) would have been smashing with the earlier outfit given the black detailing. This outfit would be a miss for me regardless but it definitely suffers by comparison to the earlier look.
2 events in one day! Love it. HRH DoS certainly knows how to beautifully repeat her favorite pieces and colors that work well on her skin tone.
I also love that she’s wearing Victoria Beckham, one of my favorite designers, for this event. The coat and hat are beautiful (Duchess Meghan knows how to wear a hat well!). Side note: I have an affinity for this Jackie-O pillbox style hat in the cream color because my mother wore a similar one on her wedding day:) I also love that she paired the outfit with the hunter green pumps. Again, I’m not a big fan of prints on her, so the dress is just OK., although the cut and length are very nice.
I really like the outfit, beautiful dress and coat. The accessories, colour of her shoes and handbag I absolutely love. Not keen on her hat, personal preference of course. She looks lovely today.
Love the whole outfit. The hat looks better in the videos. Love love love the coat! Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are glowing (yeah Prince Harry is 😁).
Very interesting video on the event. I thought it would be kind of boring.
I love the coat but just can’t get on board with the white pillbox hat! Agree with the nurse comment. This is an Interesting little bag. I really like cute little purses even though they are not very practical
Kate was wearing bright red so the green ensemble would have been a no go for this occasion!
I hate to post two misses in a row but there is simply nothing flattering about any aspect of this ensemble to me. The dress should not be longer than the coat. The hat, I agree, looks like a nod to nurse hats and again does nothing to flatter her. Of course she would look stunning in a potato sack . Can anyone imagine how these royal ladies pull off 8 months of pregnancy in stilettos? I’d be home with my feet up at this stage of the game lol!
I have the same thought every time I see her step out in stilettos! How in the world does she do it?!?! I remember what my feet were like at 8 months pregnant and there’s no way I could have pulled that off! LOL
I am about Meghan’s age, zero months pregnant, and I gave up heels a couple of years ago. I wore them a lot for work and they destroyed my feet. So I have sympathy pains in my feet and knees watching them totter around, and I never wore shoes approaching the heights of theirs!
I love almost everything about this look–love the print on the dress, the coat, the beautiful heels, and her other accessories. The hat is a total miss though; it really doesn’t work with modern style of the rest of the outfit. Hopefully her hat game will improve.
This is another fail. The hat doesn’t work for her, the coat should be longer….I bet this was another expensive outfit that just did not work. They are less expensive, beautiful figure flattering maternity lines out there. Victoria Beckman is not known for maternity wear. What a waste….
I have to agree with this. I really want to like Meghan’s style, and feel there was a time that I did like it which is why I continue to follow her fashion choices, but all I am seeing is one expensive, bespoke couture outfit after the next that simply does not work. Almost everyone here has commented on the hat’s nurse vibe, but even without the hat, and even if the coat and dress were the right length, this outfit would be nothing too extraordinary.
There are so many lovely off-the-rack maternity dresses, and I don’t believe we’ve even seen one on Meghan her entire pregnancy. What a disappointment.
Cream always looks amazing on her. I think it is absolutely her best color! (Can I really call cream a “color”?!? LOL) But I agree with many others about the pillbox hat style. It puts off a pretty strong nurse vibe. But I tend to feel that way about pillbox style hats in general. Not just on the Duchess…. On another note, I wonder how far out she really is from delivery. She looks sooooo close, and I cannot wait!!!
I am wondering if the Victoria Beckham dress has a backless aspect? I am not sure if I saw that in one of the photos.
I love that she is flawlessly engaged and happy – how lucky.
Does anyone think that the diamond tennis bracelet is different from the Cartier? The diamonds look larger to me.
I believe this is the diamond bracelet Diana wore June 2, 1997 with the aquamarine ring that is also in Meghan’s possession. I think it’s terrific!
I think what throws this outfit off for me is the starkness of the white. Maybe if she forgot about the white hat and chose another color, a smaller green beret type chapeau. Agree with all the ladies and the high heel comments! I spent years walking through airports in heels for business travel! Ouch!
I really liked the look except for the hat. I really think that Meghan should step up her hate game. Other than a boring hat I thought she looked great.
Loved seeing the Fab Four together and I always enjoy the Commonwealth Service. Cream is such a beautiful colour on the Duchess and the Victoria Beckham coat is a piece that I can see her repeating in the future. I love how the Duchess has made dressing her pregnancy all her own. I am not pregnant and have been introduced to different labels because of her and rediscovered others that I had forgotten about. I also cannot wait to see the arrival of baby Sussex!
Hello! First time commenting.
The DoS could wear anything and it wouldn’t take away from her beauty. So, I’m less interested in how her ensembles are put together (though for effect, I realize its important) and I like to focus more on the strengths and weaknesses of how each of the pieces look.
Perhaps a smaller-sized pillbox hat or a different hairstyle would have changed the look a bit differently. The #MirrorMeg options have some great examples of this. Closer to the head in shape and size, not so much height. I don’t prefer the texture of the coat. The length doesn’t bother me and the fit/lines of the coat are very nice. The dress does not overwhelm me. The green satin pumps are probably my favorite part of this ensemble. Beautiful in color, design and fabric though personally I can’t manage that high of a heel very well (and I’m not even pregnant). I remember a former colleague of mine saying there are certain heels you walk in and certain heels you sit in.The stiletto seems like such a heel to me but, gosh, they flatter the legs nicely. The clutch is equally beautiful in color but I don’t prefer the shape. I can barely make out the earrings she is wearing, pretty color but doesn’t translate through the photos I’ve seen.
I may comment previous posts, this blog is such a welcome diversion for me right now. I admire the DoS and, being an American, it’s fascinating to follow her Royal life.
