Today, Meghan visited another of her newly-announced patronages, the National Theatre. The National Theatre is a London-based theatre, showcasing a diverse range of stage productions. Meghan became the official Royal Patron of the National Theatre in January 2019, taking over the role that was previously held by the Queen.
Meghan, who is well into her third trimester, looked glowing in a blush/nude ensemble from Brandon Maxwell. She brought back her iconic Matilde pumps from her go-to shoe brand, Aquazzura, and carried a Carolina Herrera clutch. Meghan’s hair was swept up in a slightly-retro updo, which was a departure from her favorite messy-bun look. We love Meghan’s new earrings – the long cuff style is an edgy, modern twist on an otherwise classic look.
Heels: Aquazzura Matilde pumps
Earrings: Ecksand Tresses Gold Bar Earrings
Dress: Brandon Maxwell V-neck Dress
Blazer: Brandon Maxwell 3/4 Sleeve Jacket
Purse: Carolina Herrera Insignia Clutch

Absolutely gorgeous. I think that this is my favorite daytime look that she has worn thus far. These blush tones just look so beautiful against her complexion. The dress and jacket fit perfectly and her hair is in such an elegant up do. Those Birks earrings are my favorite pair of jewellery that she owns and I am deciding on whether to purchase the smaller pair. Overall a beautiful elegant look.

We love the blush tones too!

She looks fresh and relaxed and healthy! This outfit is in keeping with her minimalist style and sleek lines.

Definitely suits her style! The color is very fresh!

Eh, I’m not wild about this one. Not a big fan of the cut of the dress and blush is not my favorite, especially head to toe. I like this new hairdo as a change of pace, though.

Duchess Meghan looks beautiful in her tried and true peachy-beige. Her more structured updo and makeup are fresh, polished and glowing,
I love that she’s wearing the favorite Aquazurra pumps which flatter her so well. The cut of the dress and jacket are the perfect way to show off the baby Sussex bump as well!

Brrr isn’t she cold? Seems like a very spring look! I like the change up with the hairdo. Not so sure about the cut of the dress as maternity wear. I loved the runway look and the added pop of color with the scarf and the longer sleeve length. The three-quarter sleeves make the jacket appear too tight.

I suspect Meghan might be one of those pregnant women who is always hot, because she has been wearing short sleeved dresses and open coats and bare legs all winter. I had a friend like that who was always hot, even in the middle of January, when she was expecting.

Oh my goodness someone is dreaming of spring (and her impending arrival)!! This pale blush color certainly suits Meghan and makes me jealous as I’m wayyy to pale to pull it off 🙁 And how lovely is her hair today?! this side part flatters her so well and chignon is very elegant. I think Meghan’s look is head to toe perfection today!
Lisa says
Yes yes yes! Come through DoS!!! One of my favorite looks to date because I like blush tones (but not when work successively ?). Super polished. It’s a 10/10 for me and that updo is lovely.

I love an all blush or nude palette when one has the complexion to carry it off (and she does) and the pieces are really nice, but the dress seems ill fitting below the baby bump (or maybe just very wrinkled?) The updo is perfect and a step above the messy bun look.
ST says
I agree. The color is sublime on her and her hair and makeup are as good as she has ever looked! Just stunning. But the fit below the bump is really off and unflattering IMO. She once again nails it with her accessories though. The earrings, the bag, the shoes…. divine.

The Duchess looks lovely. The colour suits her so well. The shoes YES! when I was that advanced in pregnancy I could not walk in heels that height she did amazingly. She may not be feeling the cold so much, when you are pregnant your on the warmer side, she is wearing the texture of clothing she can cope with I assume and good for her.

Hi Christine! I wanted to thank you for your participation in the discussion regarding online negativity among the royal watchers, featured in Elle Magazine. I’ve read that article a couple of times and am so hopeful for the #HellotoKindness campaign, not only among royal watchers but all over social media. I wanted also, to thank you for all the hard work you do to keep this site free from trolls, over the top stans and those that just want to be miserable, it’s much appreciated!! I hope you have a great day!!

It is wonderful to see this concerted effort to put an end to the horrible negativity and abuse happening online. I fully agree with you Lauri and also extend my thanks and appreciation to Christine and the team for their incredible hard work and efforts in creating this wonderful blog.

This is not a good look really, and especially for winter. It’s literally freezing and snowing in London today and she wears this?!?!? She had so many great coats and strong winter looks before they were married but since they tied the knot it’s been miss after miss. I know she’s just finding her footing but really she can do better. We’ve seen it!
stacey says
Why should she dress for winter in what other people think is appropriate ? If you have never been pregnant, you won’t know how HOT a woman feels especially in her third trimester. Plus she is from Canada which is -20 right now, so winter is England is nothing she can’t handle, so please what makes this not a good look for winter ????? She feels comfortable and she’s dressed professionally. That’s all that matters.
Shersha says
Have to agree with you Stacey about the weather. I checked and it was +6 or so in London today whilst it is -20 feeling like -35 and even colder in most parts of Canada with 20plus cm of snow and more throughout. London, sounds like bliss to me right now!

Beige on beige is not my favourite. I do like her hair this way though.

I think she looks stunning today. I’ve noticed that the looks she’s been putting together for her recent patronage visits feel more like “Meghan”. She’s sticking to her gorgeous neutral colors, wearing minimalist, ethical and modern jewelry pieces. And I love that her shoe choices have had a bit more personality as well. Hopefully that’s an indication that she’s finding a way to stay true to self amidst the incredible expectations that go along with being royal. Bravo DoS!!!
kathleen van Voorhees says
Her dress and jacket are WAY too tight. The dress is pulling and rising up across her hips, under her bust-line and at the neckline. The jacket is pulling across her upper arms and back and needless to say is meant to be able to close. The dress actually is designed to be a relaxed silhouette. No hosiery in the middle of winter and barely there strappy shoes whilst it was 41 degrees in London today. All at a very high price tag and not even a British brand. New earrings again because she only has dozens that would have done just as well in her collection. Finally, again apparently not understanding seasonal dressing. This outfit would have been great in the Spring or say in Palm Beach or similar locals this time of year, and of course if it fit her. Perhaps it will work in the Spring after the baby is born if she chooses to wear it again. She’s a very pretty woman, with apparently a limitless wardrobe budget, very disappointing.
Brenda says
The colour of the dress is lovely, as is Meghan’s hair and makeup. However, the dress does not seem to fit, especially in photos taken from a side view. I’m not sure why she doesn’t choose maternity wear for a more flattering and comfortable fit?
Alison says
The cut of the dress is not for a pregnant woman as you can see the fabric straining just before the flared skirt. Not one of my favorites.

This look is one of my favorites! Brandon Maxwell works well for Meghan. I loved the previous bright yellow sleeveless dress, as well. This blush pink color is beautiful on her & the style is classic. Even though it is cold, the Duchess just walks a short way from the car to the door. We get to see the beautiful outfit without a heavy coat covering it up. Lovely outfit on a Lovely person.
