Meghan made a surprise visit to Victoria Yards in Johannesburg today. Victoria Yards is a community network of artists, artisans, sculptors, metal workers, and carpenters working together. They provide programming for young children and support local organizations that work with marginalized youth and women.
Meghan wore a simple shirt dress from Aritzia with bold red flats from Everlane. She also accessorized with a black straw clutch.
The indigo hue of the dress brightened against the pop of the shoes, creating a simple, elegant, yet memorable look.

Another snappy, terrific outfit, Meghan’s on a rolll!!The neat shirtdress couldn’t be better, both for looks and for hugging kids. And the acid orange flats are a genius touch. The colour would be too much if it was matched anywhere else, jewellery or clutch, but on their irreverent own they add an amazing touch of spice. Win-win.
I wasn’t sure about this dress at first. Seemed kind of long and I am not a fan of obvious button details. But seeing it in other pictures, I warmed to it. The front slit helps to balance the length. And I love that she is wearing flats, and colorful ones at that. I look forward to hearing more about her earrings…I read that she bought them in Africa but haven’t seen a picture of them yet. That has been my only quibble thus far with the tour…an almost lack of local fashion/artisan jewelry. When Kate was in India/Pakistan, she had a few local jewelry pieces that inspired my shopping. (For those interested in that kind of jewelry, I HIGHLY recommend Novica.com. It is a National Geographic site and sells work–jewelry, clothes, art, etc.–from a variety of countries and provides an income stream to the artisans. Plus if you sign up for an account they send coupon codes all the time.)
I too have loved Meghan’s looks for this tour. But I had expected to see a little more from local designers or jewelers. I will be excited to learn more about her earrings too. And good tip about Novica!
I did read in another article that these are the brand she was wearing. But unfortunately, none of the photos appear to show enough of the earrings for me to ID them. They appear to be hoops with studs on them, but there are several pairs like that.

I like that she left the tie belt off so the dress keeps a long lean line. I assumed it would be denim at first but it’s just an indigo colour, the fabric is fluid and hangs well. Thanks for the Novica tip, looks like hours of fun to be had over there!

Love this dress and LOVE the color of these flats!! I’ve loved everything that Meghan’s worn on this tour but I do wish she had worn more local designers. I hope she wears the skinny jeans she picked up today soon, I’m dying to see them in action.
