Meghan's Mirror

Chronicling the Chic, Classic and Casual Style Duchess of Sussex (the former Meghan Markle)

November 8, 2019

The ‘Smoking Gun’ on Meghan & Harry

Meghan loves to support small business brands, especially ones from places that are close to her heart. Over the years, we have loved learning about these brands, which we may never have found if not for the Duchess of Sussex. One of our favorite brands that Meghan introduced us to is none other than The Right Hand Gal.

The Right Hand Gal is a Montreal-based jewelry line, designed by sisters Shawna and Randi Herlich, that created Meghan Markle’s iconic two-letter H and M necklace – y’know, that necklace – the one that confirmed the royal romance between Meghan and Harry. This necklace was the smoking gun and the messenger that told the entire world that they were together, and the relationship was serious. The piece has become so iconic, and holds a unique and rare spot in their royal fairy tale. No other brand can claim to be the “necklace reported around the world” as Meghan and Harry began their public relationship but The Right Hand Gal.

Meghan has worn the piece- now known as the Meghan necklace – several times over the past few years, and it acts as a sentimental reminder to the early days of their romantic love story. We admire the family business aspect of The Right Hand Gal’s ethos, and the love and soul that they pour into their products. When asked about Meghan wearing their necklace, Randi Herlich says they are “honored” to be a part of their unique love story, and to be “linked to Meghan and Harry’s royal romance forevermore.”

The Right Hand Gal made Meghan’s two-letter H and M necklace just for the Duchess-to-be, at the styling request of Jessica Mulroney. Meghan’s Mirror can exclusively confirm that the piece worn by Meghan was purchased by her stylist BFF Jessica Mulroney from a Toronto boutique – such a sweet way to celebrate a special relationship! By a twist of fate , the brand has become a huge part of Meghan and Harry’s love story. Other brands may make similar claims, but the gals from The Right Hand Gal know that they made that special necklace for the future Duchess

We took a look at the rest of The Right Hand Gal’s collection, and it is oh-so-Meghan, with pieces that are perfect for the Duchess of Sussex. We’ve rounded up the best MirrorMeg styles to get Meghan’s look for less from one of her most iconic brands:

The Iconic Mini Two Letter Necklace

The delicate two-letter necklace has become an iconic MirrorMeg jewelry piece. Whether you choose the letters of you and your beloved, your little ones, or your own initials, this necklace is perfect for everyday wear.

Solid Gold Bar Studs

These classic studs are so in-line with Meghan Markle’s style, we can’t believe she doesn’t already own a pair! They look just like several pairs in her own jewelry box. The solid gold style makes them hearty enough for daily wear, while the minimalistic design ensures they go with any outfit.

Twisted Evil Eye Ring

Meghan Markle loves to be creative with her rings, from stacking to swapping out different styles. This ring showcases one of Meghan Markle’s favorite jewelry symbols – the Evil Eye – in a delicate, stackable, versatile ring, similar to rings that Meghan has worn in the past.

Hamsa Necklace

We love jewelry with meaning, and so does Meghan! This delicate Hamsa necklace is very much within Meghan Markle’s style wheelhouse, showcasing a symbolic Hamsa. Meghan recently wore a necklace in a similar style! The Hamsa hand is a protective symbol said to bring the wearer happiness, luck, health, and good fortune.

We also love The Right Hand Gal’s collection of charms – like their 11:11 Wish Charm.

The charms are all designed to let you create a unique, personalized and one-of-a-kind keepsake so you don’t have to be a “plain chain”, and can be “charming” instead.

Any of these pieces would make the perfect gift for your sister, BFF, loved one, or just for yourself! After all, we love the meaning behind The Right Hand Gal’s name: “the left hand is reserved for the misters, but the right hand is reserved for the sisters.”

I love these delicate pieces, especially the earrings and dainty pendants. Wanting subtle pieces of jewellery these are perfect. I don’t like bare, necklines and earlobes! This is providing a happy medium. I love when the Duchess wears such pieces, elegant and just enough.

When I saw Meghan wearing this necklace I liked the idea so much that I asked for this necklace with my husband’s and mine initials for Christmas. I wear it almost daily 🙂
