While she may be a California girl who loves the sun, Meghan is also an advocate for sun safety – frequently sharing sporting a hat and sharing her favourite ways to stay sun safe while soaking up some rays.

With the Tig having shut down, we were saddened that several years of archives – including amazing tips from Meghan herself on her fashion & beauty choices – would be lost to the depths of the internet. We were able to track down the archives and today we’re sharing them with you in today’s summertime instalment of the Meghan’s Mirror Tig Throwback Thursdays series.
In one of the last entries on The Tig, Meghan shared why being safe in the sun is so important and asked her “go-to guru for all things beauty &* skincare”, Daniel Martin, for tips on to make your skin glow this summer with 5 of his picks for best sunscreens. Here’s what Meghan had to say:
“It’s amazing to think that those warm rays of summer are just around the corner. But even more important than scouting out that new pair of stylish shades is, of course, preparing our skin for the new wave of oh-so-delightful vitamin D.”
So what were the five products recommended by Daniel that Meghan couldn’t wait to share with Tig readers? They’re all here!

The Tig recommended the following 5 sunscreens as their “best of the best” to make your summer skin glow – while staying safe.
Sunscreen #1: Lagom Cellus Sun Gel SPF 50
Daniel says: “Lagom Cellus Sun Gel sunscreen is for the person who isn’t a fan of sunscreen. It’s extremely lightweight, absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t give you the heavy feeling of SPF. Great for guys and gals who are combination to oily as well. I love this stuff!” With seamless absorbability and a matte finish, it’s the perfect daily accompaniment to your youthful complexion, keeping it bright, beautiful, and rejuvenated for years to come.
Sunscreen #2: La Mer The Broad Spectrum SPF 50 UV Protecting Fluid
Daniel says: “La Mer’s sunscreen is luxurious on the skin PLUS high protection! Great for normal to combination skin and works well under makeup.” Designed to be worn over your moisturizer or under makeup, this soothing, lightweight lotion infuses skin with the sea-sourced renewing energies of La Mer’s beloved Miracle Broth.
Sunscreen #3: Supergoop! Super Power Sunscreen Mousse Broad Spectrum SPF 50
Daniel says: “The mousse texture was a game changer for me when I realized how moisturizing and easy this was to apply. The lightest weight imaginable! This is my new summer addiction!” A light-as-air, quick-absorbing, 80-minute water-resistant formula that delivers broad-spectrum SPF 50 – a golf-ball size amount is all you need to cover up safely!
Sunscreen #4: Dior One Essential City Defense Toxin Shield Pollution & UV Advanced Protection SPF 50
Daniel says: “Not only are you getting high SPF coverage, you are also getting a “shield” on the skin to protect from environmental pollutants and toxins in the air. This needs to be in every city dweller’s bag this summer.” It’s hard to find (it sells out quickly!) but if you can, it has triple antipollution action including antiadhesion, anti-penetration and antioxidation along with powerful UVA/UVB filters so your skin is protected for up to eight hours.
Sunscreen #5: Vita Liberata Self Tan Dry Oil SPF 50
Daniel says: “This is a triple threat by giving you not only gradual color, but the hydration and sun protection you need to create even coloring all over the body. The best part: it’s not greasy!” If you need a little colour boost to kick-start your tan, Vita Liberata’s oil applies with a subtle tint for instant color and no missed spots while giving you a gradual tan that builds over 10 days.
We’ll be sharing more Tig Archives in the future – but for now, don’t miss out on any of the great articles already in our archives!
Omg I just heard you on Royally Obsessed!!! *squeal* That was such a great episode! I loved hearing about how you find out what clothes and accessories Meghan wears and am sooo very grateful for all of your hard work and research!! I’m really hoping that we see Meghan at the Trooping of the Color but I don’t think we’ll see Archie in a baby Born on Harry’s chest 🙂
I too just listened to Royally Obsessed and found your website/blog super exciting. I have been a royal fan since the late 70’s (yes I’m older than most) with Princess Caroline of Monaco.
You’ve done a great job researching Meghan’s fashion and I’m anxiously awaiting for her maternity leave to be over so we can see the next round of fashion and see more of baby Archie.
Keep up the good work.
Omg, I just read about your Royally Obsessed interview on the Daily Mail! After listening to it the other day I’m thrilled that others are being alerted to how wonderful Meghan’s Mirror is!!
You are on fire!!!! 🔥
