Meghan and Harry visited the Los Angeles National cemetery today, Remembrance Sunday. The couple chose to observe the event in their own way as they did not attend events in the UK this year due to both their change in royal status as well as Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Harry left a message and wreath with the words “To all of those who have served, and are serving. Thank you“.
A spokesperson for the couple said: “It was important to the duke and duchess to be able to personally recognize Remembrance in their own way, to pay tribute to those who have served and to those who gave their lives”
As is always the case with events surrounding moments of commemoration, honouring and loss, the fashion was not – and will never be – an important part of the conversation. The honouring of those who have served is the message. However, as a fashion resource and reference, we do have some details to share about Meghan’s attire.
Coat: Black Brandon Maxwell Silk-Organza Coat
Heels: Jennifer Chamandi ‘Lorenzo’ Heels
Bracelets: Cartier ‘Love’ Bracelet
Watch: Cartier Tank Francaise Watch
Belt: Brandon Maxwell Belt
If you are looking for your own way to pay tribute, there are many virtual events that everyone can attend. You can check your local resources for the details.

It was nice to see Harry and Meghan out and about, especially paying tribute to does of whom have served in the armed force and those who have sacrifice their lives to their service. It is note worthly to understand that if they were in the UK they would have paid tribute just the same. Thanks Harry and Meghan.

Meghan is wearing “a black belted wool satin faille jacket dress by Brandon Maxwell,” according to Mad About Meghan site. The photographs of M&H at the L.A. cemetery were taken by Lee Morgan, “an Afro-American/Brazilian photographer, born in New York City and currently residing in L.A.”
I love the styling of this jacket dress with decorative belt. Meghan has worn Brandon Maxwell on other occasions, most notably the lovely sleeveless yellow A-line midi-dress with back slit, that Meghan wore during a function in London, I believe in 2018.
That wool satin faille sounds like a luxurious fabric. I looked it up online and came across this delightful maxi dress and bolero jacket by Carolina Herrera. Meghan would look lovely in this outfit, though she’d probably tie the satin sash on her waist with the bow at the back rather than at one side. Since she’s minimalist, she might simply tie it with the lengths hanging downward neatly rather than tied in a bow. This outfit is reminiscent of Meghan’s dress jacket by Brandon Maxwell:

On second thought, with the pleat detail at the back waist, perhaps the sash tied at one side would work better.

It’s nice to see Meghan & Harry employing and exposing a variety of photographers, filmmakers, journalists and other professionals of color. I look forward to their Archewell launch and to seeing their first projects with Netflix!
What a shame that the royal firm is trying so hard to continually slam and disrspect Harry and Meghan. Such sad, divisive efforts are causing Harry a great deal of hurt. These actions will backlash on the monarchy and the British media too. My comments are in reference to the confirmation by a Sussex rep (as quoted in Harper’s Bazaar) that Buckingham Palace officials refused Harry’s request to have a wreath laid at the Cenotaph on his behalf during Remembrance Day services on Sunday.

So true. I’ve lost respect for (and interest in) the Royal family and their pettiness.

The Royal Firm (as you call it) have not disrespected Harry. He asked to have a personal wreath laid in London. This was denied because NOBODY lays a personal wreath. Charles lays a wreath for the Queen, who is laying it on behalf of the nation. William lays a wreath on behalf of the Royal Air Force, Princess Anne does so on behalf of the Royal Navy etc. If something like this is so important to Harry, then he should have stayed in England and not left his position, his duty, his Queen, his country and his family. Then he could have laid a wreath on behalf of the Marines, where he was commander before he bailed on his job.
This trip to a cemetery in LA was pure and simple a PR stunt. If it was a personal gesture, then there would not have been a photographer along. This is a distasteful way to be relevant and get photos printed.
