Meghan and Harry joined the New Zealand Prime Minister for a visit to Pillars, a charity operating across New Zealand that supports children who have a parent in prison by providing special mentoring opportunities. As a wedding present to The Duke and Duchess, the Government of New Zealand gifted $5000 dollars to Pillars, and Their Royal Highnesses will have the opportunity to meet some of the children who have directly benefitted from this funding.
We loved seeing Meghan recycle her Burberry trench coat that we last saw when she was watching Harry play polo! The look was elegant and polished with the coordinating dress and coat.
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman ‘Legend’ Pumps
Dress: Custom Brandon Maxwell cream midi shift dress
Trench: Burberry Bishop Trench

This look is…very beige. In color and in my level of excitement.
I really do not like seeing her wear her outdoor coat inside. It is a pet peeve of mine. Kate also does it and it bugs. I was always taught that you take off your coat lest you give the impression that you are counting down the minutes til you can leave again. And, it just looks weird with her wearing it while she is apparently presenting an award to that guy or something.

I agree, it looks really odd and I can’t understand why she has it on?

Oh Meghan, if only I could understand your love of the trench coat! Do you feel the cold? Want to hide your growing bump? Like the poster above I don’t get why you keep them on indoors – it does seem a little rude. Which I’m sure is not your intention! And on this case, I think those children would have loved to see you dressed a touch more “princessy”?

I agree. Not very professional/appropriate looking to hand out awards with a trench on!

Interesting comments from you guys about the trench coat. In below picture, it seems that the PM has also kept her coat on.

So I see some don’t like her wearing the Burberry Trench indoors. My first thought was that the dress was sleeveless and perhaps she was cold. Then I thought that the day of this event, the dress didn’t fit quite the same with the pregnancy (or she wasn’t feeling as confident in it because of her larger midsection, but still liked the overall color palette of the outfit).
I love the trench so much it doesn’t bother me, and I also love her in these pale beige/rosy beige outfits which look great with her undertones, so it’s a nice look for today. 🙂

A classic trench coat is never out of style. I see this one has a drop sleeve and I like the way Meghan pushes her sleeves up. Kind of a signature look for her. I do agree wearing a coat indoors looks like one is quite ready to leave. But Meghan is in the first trimester and she flat out may not feel well and she’s trying to adjust to that while fulfilling her duties. Just a thought.
On the whole, just somewhat neutral on this look.

I agree with the above posters that it looks very odd for her to be on stage presenting an award with the trench on. And it does feel like there is little to grasp here between the beige pumps, beige shift dress and beige coat… Also, whilst I don’t think anyone in the RF should be counting pennies or anything, I do feel the Burberry trench looks so similar to her Martin Grant in length, colour and style that it feels a bit superfluous.
She still looks beautiful of course. Oh well, on to the next one!

Looks wrinkled and not very put together. Wear a jacket with a dress if you are going to be stooping and bending down. It seems as though she would be stepping on the hem of the coat. I wonder how much longer she can do this stooping in 4 inch heels while pregnant.
