Today, Meghan visited one of her new patronages, The Mayhew, an animal welfare charity in London. The charity helps bring rescue cats and dogs into the community to encourage adoption, but also to benefit the people through animal therapy programs.
Meghan learned about the organization’s Therapaws program, which brings therapy dogs into elder care homes. She also learned about Mayhew’s work with London’s homeless and met with some of the dogs who participate in these programs.
Meghan looked ultra elegant in a head-to-toe cream ensemble, which was very brave considering she was meeting furry friends! She repeated a chic Armani coat and paired it with a very affordable H&M sweater dress.
Coat: Emporio Armani Cream Cashmere Coat
Heels: Paul Andrew Coquette Pump in Camel
Earrings: Dean Davidson Midi Knockout Earrings
Dress: H&M Mama Fine Knit Dress
Purse: Stella McCartney Falabella Tote in Medium Beige
Love Meghan’s look today? We asked the team to come up with some of their favourite #MirrorMeg options:
What did you think of Meghan’s look for her first official visit to the Mayhew?
Danielle says
She. Looks. Amazing! The color is a dream on her. Love the cool neckline of the dress. I feel like we haven’t seen her hair down in a while – it looks so voluminous!
Love love love this ensemble. She looks gorgeous.
Lauri says
Oh my, I love this look!!! It looks very elegant yet extremely comfortable and the cream color really highlights her incredible complexion, am I noticing a bit of a tan? Perhaps her and Harry enjoyed a warm weather get away for the new year.
I actually think that choosing this color for a visit with dogs is spot on, as all dog owners know they only seem to shed white fur ?.
Thanks for the quick post MM!! I can’t wait to see what Meghan will wear this evening.

A little while ago I read on a fashion site that was featuring Duchess Meghan’s look today that it was a “Pregnant Sharon Stone Basic Instinct” look – and I agree! But it’s not a bad thing at all. I think she manages to look sexy and still royal-appropriate.
I love this cream monotone look on her, and her mixing the H & M with the Armani and Stella McCartney was a very nice idea. Can we find out the shoes please? I absolutely love these sling backs. The Duchess is taking a risk visiting an animal shelter in such a light shade – and wearing no hose in January weather. But I like that she decided to go a with a slightly sexy look with the body con dress that’s showing lots of leg. I also love the great shiny blow out since it’s also been a while since we’ve seen her hair down in a glam style. Why not?!
I know this will be a love or hate it look, but I think it was a nice way to break out of some of her more covered up looks. She looks happy (I know she’s a real dog lover) and I love that she chose this organization as one of her four patronages.

Meghan is really choosing beautiful coats lately that flatter her baby bump. I do find this dress too tight. I wish she would go up in size for a smoother, more modest look.
Not 21 says
I’ve got to agree with Brenda – Meghan seems determined to put off or avoid actual maternity clothes. Noble, and modern, but some of the choices this month have simply been ill-fitting or too tight as a result.
Shersha says
The dress that she is wearing is a maternity dress. It is from H & M’s maternity wear line. The problem is not whether or not she wants to maternity wear because that is her choice, as Brenda said and I also agree it is truly in the sizing.
Shersha says
Correction- “wear maternity clothes”
Shersha says
As a bag lover I seriously want to raid Meghan’s bag closet! She has hands down the most incredible handbag collection that I have ever seen. I love the cream coloured tones on her and they suit her beautifully. The coat is gorgeous and I have a few Birks jewellery pieces on my list because of her. I am on the fence about the dress. I am not a fan of the tight maternity look but she looks comfortable in it and the overall look is so very pretty. I cannot wait to see what she is wearing at the evening event!

The irony of Meghan wearing a suede shoe to an animal shelter. ?
I wish she’d stop with the animal skin products. At least she’s wearing a Stella McCartney bag.
Mae says
But surely other ppl that work at the shelter owns leather shoes or even bags? You can choose to wear leather and still care that dogs and cats are treated with love.
OG SG says
It isn’t really that ironic. A lot of us draw a distinction between pets and farmyard animals, whether you agree or not. I love cats and got mine from a shelter, but I still eat meat and wear leather, as do a lot of people who adopt from and work at shelters.
Natatat says
I respect that this is an issue you care alot about, but Meghan has never stated that she is vegan and only some people in this world are vegan. So no contradiction here in her wearing suede – she has never claimed to abstain from consuming/using animal products.
On another note, kudos to her for wearing a very affordable maternity dress from H&M.

I think a monochromatic cream look is such a chic look. I love this outfit. Very classy and the bag is excellent as well. I do agree with some of the other commenters about the fit of the dress, but I see young pregnant women wearing really tight clothing so I assume that look is really in vogue right now.
Laura B says
Gorgeous! She looks like “ herself” today. The cream is stunning on her skin tone. She doesn’t appear quite as conservative and covered up. I love that her hair is down. It feels authentic and true to self. While I could understand people’s enthusiasm to the red/purple ensemble earlier this week, it felt like Meghan playing a character rather than Meghan. This feels like Meghan! I love it!

The Duchess looks fantastic, what a terrific organisation. Have to agree about her bag collection she has some really unusual but gorgeous bags, its nice to change the look of an outfit simply by adding an unusual bag as she does. Thank you for a great blog
OG SG says
Even though I like her neutrals, I think this look is a bit too monochromatic for me. I hate nude pumps but appreciate that the slingbacks add some interest. I like that she went shorter here, and I love that she was holding and playing with the pups.
Eliza says
I love the all cream outfit, very modern. But i think those earrings are a lot smaller than the ones she wore to Eugenies wedding. Probably a new pair.
izzy says
She looks so beautiful here! I feel like since her wedding, she’s felt a lot of pressure to dress in a way that conforms to the royal standard and such. But this look is so natural on her, I do love it when she wears her hair down – both literally and figuratively.

Dress is too tight.sexy outfit to wear to an animal shelter.
