We LOVED Meghan’s glamorous Oscar de la Renta dress. It was the perfect blend of fashion-forward and style risk that we love to see in Meghan’s classic, sophisticated wardrobe.

What did you think of Meghan’s look as she met with the King of Tonga?
Josephine says
Absolutely gorgeous Oscar de la Renta bird embellished gown, truly the Duchess’ best evening look so far. So fitting for the occasion. Regal and a tribute to the designer. Meghan looks relaxed despite the delay in arriving after a flight glitch in Sydney.

I think this might be the most stunning look I’ve ever seen on her!

I love this dress but I am so curious what other readers think on here of Meghan’s spending? Please don’t take this as hate, what do others here think about the amount that has been spent so far? I know this dress will have a hefty price tag. Do you think what she spends is extravagant and needs to be toned down? Or that it’s to be expected? I’d love to know what others think 🙂

I actually think that her wardrobe on this tour price wise has been very restrained. This is most likely the most expensive dress she has worn (i don’t believe the price is anywhere close to the $10-18,000 that is being reported. More likely $4-5,000). Most of her outfits are around the 500-2,000 marks which is pretty much on par with other royal ladies. Most of her shoes, bags and jewelries in the tour are also not new and reworn many times. I think some publications like the dailymail inflates the prices of her outfits by adding on the prices of her shoes, bags and jewels that she owned before her marriage and before the tour. It’s incredibly misleading. Honestly, the goodwill and success of this tour, not just for the relationship of the UK with these countries but for the image of the royal family and their continued relevance, has been priceless.
Also, this tour wardrobe has been exceptionally thought out. From the use of many Australian brands, to the honouring of the host country’s colours, to the highlighting of brands with incredible causes and messages, they have done an exceptional job!

An Oscar de la Renta dress AND my favorite Aquazurra Deneuve pumps? I’m in heaven! Duchess Meghan looks simply stunning.
The flying bird detail on this dress (the bodice and the flounce of the skirt) is exquisite and I love the tulle layers that truly makes this dress look Royal. The bow on the back of the Denueve’s is also a nice touch to compliment the wings on the birds detailed on the dress…very pretty!
The hair is stunning, a very nice glossy blow out with half tucked behind the ears, which gives it a more “controlled” old Hollywood feel, while still looking very “Meghan”. This is so far my No. 1 look of the tour 🙂

Yeah, this is truly stunning. And I am not one for bird or other animal motifs on clothes, typically.

The Oscar de la Renta dress is her best look to date.

Oh My Goodness!!! I’ve said it before but This Time I really, really mean it, this is by far and away my favorite dress that Meghan has worn Ever!!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more gorgeous gown, the tulle gives this gown a lightness, a bit of whimsy not often seen in the Duchess’ working wardrobe and the embroidery continues the air of fantasy and of course birds are perfect for an event awarding conservation efforts.
Lol, it just struck me that my favorite dress Ever is right out of Disney Princess movie!! Lol, I guess I’m just a little Princess at heart!

Best dress thus far for this tour. Bellisima!!!!!!!!
NatS says
That is the most beautiful dress. She looks perfect. My favorite look so far.
Lisa says
Yes yes yes!!! This dress is a 10/10. Breathtaking indeed. The make up is another story – too much blusher.
OG SG says
I know. She usually goes more natural and even Harry says he prefers it but her makeup has been super heavy on this trip. I know she is probably trying to hide some fatigue but it is too much.
Victoria says
I love the dress – so whimsical while being classic however, I would have loved some type of updo for the Duchess’s hair, maybe half up and half down. A hair style to show off her neck and top of the dress would have been perfect. Also, I have to agree with the previous writer about the blush being put on with toooo heavy of a hand. I often feel that this is the case, way to much of a heavy hand with makeup, especially blusher. It becomes a distraction that takes away from her natural beauty.
Karen says
Now this is the fairytale princess we’ve been awaiting! Spectacular! And very cleverly designed with the darker waist!
SY says
The whole look is fabulous and to me, blends the old Meghan with the new in perfect symmetry. I do agree that her make up has been a bit heavy on the trip, but maybe it’s to cover up all of the sun screen she has bee wearing?
Gail says
The sheen Meghan has may be from insect repellent advised to avoid mosquito/insect bites (because of the pregnancy) during the trip.
Gigi says
It’s a lovely dress for sure, and I appreciate the subtle thoughtfulness behind her choices (eg featuring a bird motif for an environmental event) but I think the styling lets it down. It seems to be missing something to complete the look and wearing her hair down looks unfinished (and not in an intentional way). Sure will miss seeing her so often once this tour ends though.
Elena says
Why the media keep saying that there is a royal rule that prohibit to wear sleeveless dress to royal members???
Deborah A. Lorenzen says
I’m sure this Oscar de la Renta and the bespoke black dress with buttons together cost 20,000.00 US total. Couture and bespoke carry hefty price tags.
This is a gown and some women were wearing cocktail dresses and others gowns so I don’t get the disparity in styles of dressing. Harry was not even wearing a dark suit. His suede shoes look almost business casual. MM dress is certainly a red carpet look. Her hair looked very sleek and shiny.

Absolutely beautiful!
