Meghan Markle’s style is becoming the most-talked about fashion sense of the year. You can hardly scroll through a fashion website, much less a Twitter feed, without an article analyzing Meghan’s perfectly-imperfect, chic-yet-relatable style.
So, how do we recreate that? How do we find Meghan Markle’s effortless style, suited to our own closets? If you, like us, love a good book study, read on to find the books to help you channel Meghan Markle’s flawless style:
How to be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits
When Meghan Markle defines her own style, she always mentions that it is slightly Parisian. Who among us is not inspired by the endlessly-chic frenchwoman that we’ve seen in countless Instagram squares and magazine features? Even Meghan is allured by their timeless style. This book goes deep into the Pariesenne’s psyche, giving us insight into their lifestyle, closet, and mystique.
The Art of the White Shirt: Over 30 Ways to Wear a White T-Shirt, Blouse or Shirt
Have you ever looked at a woman in a plain t-shirt and jeans, but she looks SO good, and you don’t know why? Meghan Markle has that power – the power of styling a simple piece and making it incredible – from a white t-shirt and jeans, to a classic button-down shirt and leather leggings, or a white bow blouse and a skirt. The art of styling classic pieces is just that – an art. This book will teach you more about that illusive styling skill.
Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion
There is a huge movement in fashion towards sustainability and ethical business practices, which Meghan appears to fully support. Meghan has a passion for smaller charitably-focused brands, like Charlotte Elizabeth and Demellier London, and ethical clothing outlets, like Everlane. This book sheds a light on the ugly side of fast fashion and teaches the benefits of investing in high-quality, fair practice clothing that benefits our closets and our overall planet.
The Pocket Stylist: Behind-the-Scenes Expertise from a Fashion Pro on Creating Your Own Look
Don’t we all wish we had a personal stylist as our BFF? Meghan Markle and Jessica Mulroney are the best of friends, and Meghan is so lucky to have a best friend with such incredible style (Granted, Jessica is so lucky to have a BFF who is literally a princess). If your BFF is lacking in the stylist employment area, read this book – written by a stylist who divulges her fashion secrets.

In terms of ethical fashion brands, I will say that I’ve been very happy with Everlane both in terms of quality and price. I love their basic cotton v-neck t-shirts. Another brand that I’ve been itching to try is Amour Vert based in California, but their prices are much more expensive and I can’t take the plunge just yet.

We LOVE Everlane! Stay tuned for a special feature about them coming soon, too! 😉
Thanks for taking the time to comment!

I would love to hear about other sustainable fashion and clothing brands (green/clean beauty as well). I really believe in the ethos of Patagonia, so I like to purchase outdoor, outerwear, and weekend clothes from them. Their line just isn’t a fit for my office dress code, however. Any recommendations for sustainable work wear from the MM community? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback, Stephanie! We’ll work that into the Editorial Calendar soon!

Thank you for this list! I actually have The Pocket Stylist: Behind-the-Scenes Expertise from a Fashion Pro on Creating Your Own Look and refer to it often. Now I will also check out How to be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits .
As far as sustainable fashion, through Meghan and her Everlane picks, I’ve come to be a big fan, and now have various accessories, t-shirts and bags from the brand. I love the quality, the design and the color choices and hope to add more to my wardrobe in the future.

I just reviewed “Classic Style,” by Kate Schelter on my blog http://www.motownsavvy.com
This would be a perfect addition to this list.
