The Royal Wedding is almost here… Let the fun romance movies begin! Tonight, we had the premiere of “A Royal Romance” on Lifetime.
It’s no surprise that as a fashion blog, we loved the stylings by Claudia da Ponte in her interpretation of Meghan Markle. Many of Claudia’s references were from this blog (!) and we loved even more her artistic interpretations of events we didn’t see, like her first date with Prince Harry or her first meeting with Prince Harry or her first meeting with the Queen.
But, lucky for us, we are able to track down the looks!
For Meghan Markle’s first date with Prince Harry in the movie, Parisa Fitz-Henley wore a dress by Victoria Beckham.
The two-tone silk and wool-blend cady dress by Victoria Beckham was the perfect selection for this scene, and perfectly on point with Meghan’s wardrobe.
And for Meghan’s first meeting with Her Majesty, the Queen?
Claudia surmises that her pick would be Self-Portrait. Their Sweetheart crochet dress is definitely swoon-worthy.
And that swoon-worthy red dress?
Claudia shares that it was a budget-friendly option (only $99!) from Sequin Hearts that best fit the bill.

It was rumored that Meghan wore a maroon backless gown to the wedding so after lots of maroon options this was our favourite one on Parisa! 🙂

I thought the movie was really grey. It felt like a personal peek into their private lives, especially because they look and sound so much like the real couple, but I am also aware of the parts that weren’t based upon fact. I know they had to add some drama, but the whole breakup when Harry released the statement never happened. That was probably one of the biggest manufactured storylines, and there were quite a few others. Also I don’t feel like she was as adamantly independent as the character was in the movie, to worry about things like him protecting her. I felt like the movie they made about William and Kate played closer to the truth, but this one was very enjoyable.
