In a candid and poignant conversation, Meghan spoke at the Fortune Most Powerful Women event about social media and the impacts that it has had on her, as well as her hopes for the future.
We’d definitely recommend listening to the entire interview if you are interested. Meghan shared some insight as well about her thoughts on social media, including: “If you don’t agree with [something], don’t be part of the problem, be part of the solution. Don’t hate share; share something from the right side of the issue so that that’s what goes viral.”
Meghan’s look was the epitome of California cool, wearing a gorgeous & sustainable maxi dress from Tracy Reese’s brand ‘Hope for Flowers’ and structural gold earrings by Cuyana.

What did you think of Meghan’s look for the Fortune MPW Event?

I love this spaghetti-strap, striped Tracy Reese dress on Meghan. She always knows how to mix things up every time we see her, with so many looks and great hairstyles. She has let her hair grow to perhaps its longest length, and the different styles are always flattering and such a part of her casual style vibe.
I enjoy following Meghan for the person she is in terms of her character, and especially for all the inspirational and encouraging things she has to say. From the time I got to know her through her Tig blog and her original Instagram, I got that she’s a positive person with an upbeat outlook on life. She must be so wonderful to be around and to learn from. It’s a shame that there are so many craven fools out there trying to tear her down and mischaracterize who she is. I pray that Meghan stays strong with Harry’s deep love and support.
Meghan is intelligent, creative and courageous. I always learn a lot from her. She’s not a perfect person, and she doesn’t try to be. She’s just herself and she always puts her best foot forward. She didn’t get the shout-out moniker from her Suits friends, “Meghan Gets Things Done,” for nothing!

Mia,
I totally agree with your commentary. You put it so well, and always offer excellent feedback here. I know I could learn a lot from her as well. On a fashion note, thank you Meghan’s Mirror for including a full length photo of the dress! It is lovely!

She looks so good!
I know I’ve said it before, but I miss the days when she was more of a public figure and we could see her outfits every day.
That was good fun and helpful. I actually studied her style, and made adjustments in my wardrobe.
Her style helped me change! I dress much better now. Clothes do send a message: my work and love life both improved when I worked my wardrobe.
Meghan if you ever look at this blog: thank you!

G,
I am smiling reading your post. I am so happy that Meghan has inspired you to make positive changes for yourself! She has definitely inspired me, too. I was never really into fashion before, as I was raised being told that fashion was not important, and a materialistic thing. But you are right, clothes do send a message and have their place as well. Enjoy your weekend!

G,
I tried to respond to this earlier, hope it works this time!
I am smiling reading your comment. What a lovely thing to say! I am so happy to see that Meghan has helped you change in a positive way. She has certainly helped me, too! I was raised to believe that fashion and clothes were not important, and that it was materialistic. I never paid attention. Lately I’ve realised that it is about balance. You are right, clothes do send a message.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend and continue to stay positive!

Thanks @b! I admire Meghan and Harry. I’ve followed them since the beginning of finding out they were dating. Prior to that I’d read a lot about the British royals and I’d followed Diana during the 1980s, but I knew nothing about Meghan. I’m sorry that I’d never come across Suits earlier and gotten to know Meghan long before she met Prince Harry. She is such a woman of substance and character. When jealous people immediately began putting out negative stories about her after Harry’s warning press release to the Brit tabloids (coincidentally the day after the 2016 U.S. election), I decided to find out what I could about Meghan and make my own judgements. At that time, there were a number of delightful and informative pre-Harry YouTube videos about Meghan (in addition to her former Instagram and her Tig blog). So I did my homework, and the more I learned about Meghan, the more impressed I became. And the more I realized how lucky Harry is. He knows how lucky he is too to have met and married Meghan. On the other hand, Meghan obviously feels fortunate to have met and married the love of her life. And they both are overjoyed and grateful to have little Archie! How beautiful is that! Part of why there’s all this jealousy toward them, I think has to do with the deep love they share. So many trollish people are unhappy and they end up taking it out on other people like M&H, when such trolls need to be looking in the mirror and attending to their own lives.
Again, Meghan is certainly not perfect, but she doesn’t try to be. She struck me from the beginning as exuding a positive, upbeat attitude. She lives each moment graciously and gracefully. She’s a magnetic Leo who loves life and who learns from every experience, and then applies what she learns! Meghan is fortunate and blessed to have been nurtured by a strong mother and grandmother in a way that has allowed her to understand who she is, to embrace who she is, and to live her live with joy, courage and responsibility, as well as innate caring. Her father was also there for her when she was in her childhood years. It appears that things began to sour a bit with her father during Meghan’s teenage years, perhaps largely due to the half siblings being so bitter that Markle Sr had not been there for them when they were young. Possibly, they placed heavy guilt trips on their father for giving Meghan what he hadn’t given them. But who knows? There’s a lot of toxicity that M&H have been subjected to growing up in their respective families. So I think that’s another aspect of M&H’s lives which has bonded and united them in their love and commitment to each other toward creating a healthy, happy family unit.
Meghan is a wonderful role model who continues to surprise us because she has so much depth, and at the same time she’s very relatable and accessible. That’s why so many people around the world are intrigued by her and by Harry and their romance. And we can’t stop watching, and learning from them both. 🙂

Mia,
Applause for this amazing commentary! You are sooooo knowledgeable!! I love her positive attitude and especially her self-confidence. I wish I had half of her strong self-esteem. Hope you have a great weekend!

Tried to post this earlier but it did not work??? I’ll give it another go…
Anyways, Mia, applause for you again! Your commentary is so detailed, well thought out and spot on. I too did not get to learn about Meghan until she met Prince Harry, but I’ve been catching up on Suits. I honestly do not know how people can say she is not a good actress. I also love her positive and upbeat attitude. I wish I had half of her self-confidence. Have a great weekend, Mia!

While the dress appears to fit her and the color is complementary, it was a casual look when you compare it to what the others speaking at the conference wore. Seems she fell into the trap others in the time of working from home do, being not dressed to the level they would have been if presenting in person.
