Agree on the jacket! Adding to my Christmas list as soon as we find brand! But we think the real headline here is “Meghan Brings Bootcuts Back” – what do you think? Is she pushing skinny jeans to the back of the closet? Amazing how much thinner and more pulled together they can make people look. Is it time to bring them back for real?? Or do you think it’s just a nice cold weather look?
The fashion industry has been saying that skinny jeans are “over” for years… Maybe it will be MM who officially ushers in the new wave? They are quite flattering on her and definitely a different cut to add to everyone’s fall wardrobes!!!
I think skinny jeans have a place in fashion, I mean nothing looks better with tall boots than a great skinny jean and the ones she wore to the Invicitus Games looked great on her. All that being said, my favorite style of jeans are the straight leg jeans. I used to be a boot cut girl but found that sometimes they were too tight around the butt and upper thigh which gave me a pear shape (not too attractive) while the straight leg are just that, straight up and down but the hem is wide enough to accommodate my booties.
I’m afraid having lived through the big flared phase back in another century I’m glued to straight-leg denim now. I think a very subdued bootcut can more faltering to the female form, balancing out curves and such but I hit up against similar problems as yourself around butt and upper thigh giving just the same probs as you describe!
I am so happy to see Meghan in bootcut!!!! Meghan is so chic, so beautiful!!! Cannot wait for announcements to happen!!!
Ugh, I just went to the Mother Denim site and all their bootcut jeans are either cropped hems or short ragged hems! It’s in the 30’s here, I’m not wearing anything that’s going to leave my ankles exposed! It’s the same with JCrew, you simply can’t find a basic pair of jeans without distressing, cropped hems or some other such nonsense, do they think everyone lives in warm climates?
They do have some longer styles for cooler weather, but they are a bit harder to find.

This was the most exciting sighting of Meghan for me — she’s actually here in Blighty and it all feels so much more real. I can’t believe she’s just calmly walking around on shopping errands and great photos can be taken.
And I can’t believe how all those ID’s can be lined up — I couldn’t see a thing about the jumper at first though it’s becoming clearer now — that pointielle is so pretty. The leather on the jacket looks buttersoft-amazing and what a cool jeans label. And such a cool mix of neutral tones with the lovely scarf as well.
I saw What Meghan Wore on Twitter is now wondering if the boots might be the Weitzman Sidemover with a slightly slimmer heel. Either pair do the biz for me. Those flares make it pretty hard to see and I really look forward to a style piece on them
And the Prada bag is simply to die for — Meghan has excelled herself on street style here. And I think she’s heading to being a true rock-and-roll princess!!
