Meghan and Harry this evening attended a Reception and State Dinner hosted by the President of Fiji.
Meghan and Harry enjoyed the evening at the Grand Pacific Hotel, with Omid reporting that they did the toasting to their host with none other than Fiji Water!
Hello, show-stopping colour and style for a State Dinner! We loved the bold colour choice with the subtle cape detailing in this dress by Safiyaa. Safiyaa is a great choice for Meghan – even the brand’s ethos statement is something that pretty much sums up Meghan’s style: “Signature feminine tailoring is as powerful as the eveningwear is elegant. The elements of a woman’s wardrobe are elevated, yet effortless.”
Shoes: TBC, believed to be navy blue pumps possibly the Manolo Blahnik BB in Navy Suede
Dress: Blue ‘Gingko’ Cape Dress by Safiyaa
Earrings: Large diamond earrings, TBC

What did you think of Meghan’s look for the Fijian State Dinner?

The Duchess of Sussex is stunning.

Patricia says
Beautiful
Lisa says
Predictable style and color BUT it is a lovely dress. I was about to s1y something about the cape sweeping the floor but that’s how it was styled by the designer.

The Duchess Meghan is giving us touches of old Hollywood, along with Jacqueline Kennedy in her finest with the Safiyaa Ginko dress.
This color blue is simply stunning on her, and the shape along with the train are fit for a Royal Duchess. The dress fits her perfectly, while allowing for a subtle display of the Baby Sussex bump. love the long diamond earnings on her, which she doesn’t often wear, which accent without taking attention away from the dress.
By wearing her hair down, and off the face, she makes the look more modern that a tighter up do would have done, and as usual, the makeup is perfect – allowing her skin to show through along with a little extra highlighting and sparkle. Perfect 10 for me!

Meghan makes me prove. To see a African American princess is priceless. I love her gown. she wears it in style. Love you Meghan!!!
Josephine says
Beautiful look for the Duchess in this bold blue gown, channeling Jacqueline Kennedy. Cut well suited to her pregnancy. Classical yet modern.
OG SG says
This is gorgeous. I love a cape, and the lines are perfect. The earrings are major, too.
Lauri says
I so agree OG SG!! The clean lines and simplicity of this dress remind me greatly of her wedding dress. Of course her wonderful posture really shows this gown off to it’s very best. I have to say that I’m thrilled that the Duchess has so far not gone down the lace route that so many royal women do, nothing against lace but wow it’s been overdone the last few years.
OG SG says
Yeah, I have a couple lace dresses but Kate wore hers to death so much that now I don’t want to wear mine :-/
Lauri says
Stunning, simply stunning!!! How cute is the bump? She certainly did “pop” in the last few days! 🙂 And my goodness, Harry should either wear a uniform or tuxedo always, he looks hot, hot, hot!
I think that these earrings are on loan from a jeweler, not the Queen. Reason being is they are far to “modern” looking to be a pair of the Queens and it’s not uncommon for other royals to “borrow” jewels for special occasions. For instance, in Denmark both CP Mary and Princess Marie are ‘loaned” tiaras, that were specifically designed for them, from a jeweler. Personally I would have liked to have seen Meghan wear her wedding reception earrings again, they are gorgeous and I’ve love to get a better look at them.

Why doesn’t Harry have his suits properly tailored? It’s not correct for a man to make an entrance in a formal jacket unbuttoned. It looks too small. I know the style for men is very tight fitting almost snug, but this looks a bit silly. The color of her gown is nice but wish she would wear an evening shoe instead of a pump. I think she is glowing because she is wearing a lot of bronzer and face illuminator, its visible on her cheeks as the light hits. Are those earrings real diamonds? Gosh, where are the armed guards? They must be worth a fortune!
Lauri says
Question, what’s the difference between an evening shoe and a pump?
Fabulous says
Wow, so much negativity. I feel like I need a prozac.
I came to this sight for a pleasant break from my daily grind.
Karen says
A well cut gown in a beautiful color that is perfect for the occasion. I would have preferred to see her hair up to better showcase those gorgeous earrings but this is an absolute win on all fronts. From these photos she looks a bit further along in her pregnancy than they are revealing. I would not be surprised to see an earlier arrival than predicted.
Lauri says
I agree,I think she’s closer to 4 months along than 3. While they did say she had her 12 week scan, they didn’t say when that was.
Fabulous says
The news reports yesterday say she was 14 weeks along when commenting on her need for rest.
Anne says
I agree Lauri! She looks more 4 months pregnant. Beautiful to see her bump. The dress is verry Nice. I love the color. Looks good!
Natatat says
Beautiful dress! And I like it paired with her hair down – gives it a romantic feel. An updo could have looked a bit stuffy. Her bump is really starting to show now, which is sweet.
Alison says
She looks beautiful. It would have been nice to see a different hair style. I think an “up do” would look lovely.
Julie says
Am I the only one who isn’t crazy about this? In fairness to Meghan she is at a stage in her pregnancy where finding flattering things to wear is difficult, but this is just no. The hair and earrings are completely blah – it looks like an expensive version of what a teenager would wear to the prom. As for the dress, I think capes are pretty hard to pull off, and I wasn’t into that caped Stella McCartney dress she wore during her engagement either. Maybe it’s just me.
Barbara O'Banion says
I think the diamond drop earrings could have been borrowed from Pryianka Chopra. I’ve seen her picture wearing these type of earrings. Wouldn’t it be reasonable that her friend would loan the jewelry to her? I think she is stunning and they are both lovely people.

Thanks for sharing, Barbara! This is such a great theory, but sadly they are in a different setting. Would be such a lovely thought to think she had borrowed them from her friend! xo
