Today, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the CHOGM Women’s Empowerment reception at the Royal Aeronautical Society in London.
The event today was undoubtedly one that Meghan was excited to attend, as women’s empowerment is a cause she has long championed for. Today’s events followed a successful reception yesterday as Meghan steps into her new royal role confidently, impressively and – stylishly!
Wow. Wow. Wow. Meghan’s look tonight was flawless! After all the discussion about yesterday’s dress, this look left no room for debate. Everything from the “slammed up messy bun” to the chic, flattering lines of her dress were an A+ in our books.
Dress: Black Halo Jackie O Dress
Shoes: Aquazurra Milano Black Lace-Up Pumps
Earrings: Birks Diamond Swirl Earrings
Clutch: Gucci Dionysus Velvet Mini Bag.
Several people pointed out that the Black Halo “Jackie O” dress is an iconic style in and of itself, having been seen for years on celebrities.
Love Meghan’s look today? We asked the team to come up with some of their favourite #MirrorMeg options:

Sooo sophisticated, Meghan looks right in her element here 🙂 Love the dress and asymmetric neckline to bits, channelling Jackie O for women’s empowerment, nice touch! Once again she can show off long slim feet in gorgeous shoes, though I’m not a particular fan of the tied lace at the back. Such a drool-worthy clutch, is this her first while on royal parade? Love her hair up, too, though find myself wondering when/if she’ll produce a glossy ‘do’ someday. I was struck by how she ended up tucking one of the strands behind her ear, making for gorgeous photos. Anyway, her most confident and polished look to date. Thanks for speed-of-light post.

HI Bertie, Meghan carried a clutch to the Commonwealth Services at Westminster Abbey and also to the military awards show that she attended with Harry.
Bertie says
Oh thanks so much Lauri, I’d clean forgotten those! My memory is not my best feature 😀

Meghan was made for this life. She always looks so happy and in her element.

Wow, wow, wow! I am amazed at how she can take basic pieces, what’s more basic than an LBD?, and wear it with such panache and elan!! This woman certainly has “It” in spades!! Once again I find myself lusting after her shoes!! I can’t wear heels like that mind you but I still want them soooo much!
I know that this site is devoted mainly to fashion, not the royal role but I have to say that I’m thrilled the Harry and Meghan seem to have found their “work” niche within the Firm. I’ve heard that they are being referred to as “The Commonwealth Couple” and with their passion for women’s issue, the military and the Commonwealth, I think we are seeing the making of a true “power couple” with the desire and ability to affect real change for the better.

Hi Lauri!
I completely agree! I continue to be so impressed with the number of events that Harry and Meghan have attended! Meghan was kidding when she said she was excited to get her boots on the ground! These two are such a force already and of course she looked stunning today!

One more little comment…I’ve missed H&M’s hand holding and little PDA’s the last few engagements 🙁 I realize that they might be trying to be more professional but I miss it.
Bertie says
There were a couple of pda’s in that Harry put his hand on her back a couple of times, as per Will & Kate!
I was also beginning to wonder if Harry & Will might split the monarchy role between them one day, Will taking the UK and Harry the Commonwealth. Whatever, it’s clear H&M have a big contribution to make overseas and Meghan has the sartorial savvy to add to that!

They did hold hands as they were leaving and going to the car. 🙂

I noticed the same thing too. Maybe she was advised during her training to reserve the PDA for more informal outings. Noticing lately she’s not as (I hate saying this.. 🙂 ) “clingy” as she was in the beginning. Maybe she’s a bit more confident these days! Also, I’d like to see her try a more polished chignon and move away from the “messy bun” hairstyles she’s been wearing. Or maybe even a tailored French braid. She’s a lovely lady and the hairstyle sets the whole tone for your outfit.
