The first annual Royal Foundation Forum took place today and also marked the first official engagement for Meghan Markle as she teamed up with Harry, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Will and Kate) to host the Forum.
In exciting news, Meghan’s first royal patronage will see her formally added as the fourth Patron to the Royal Foundation after her marriage to Prince Harry on May 19th.
Under the banner of ‘Making a Difference Together’, the event was designed to shine a spotlight on the various programmes run by the Foundation. So far, these include most prominently Heads Together, the Invictus Games and United for Wildlife.
The “Fab Four” appeared on stage and spoke about why the Foundation was set up (William and Harry set it up in 2011, with Kate joining after her wedding to William), the projects they are currently working on and their ambitions for the future.

Hi MM!! I love this look on Meghan it’s elegant and classic. I think a dress was really appropriate for this official appearance! I’m excited to see more of the Fab Four!!

Hi Iris! We loved this look too! Thanks for your sweet comment!

Thanks for a great post MM!!
I agree with Iris, this look is so elegant and classic and really works for Meghan’s style sensibilities. I have to say my favorite item is her shoes! I just love heels with the ankle strap, a very 40’s feel and imho, very feminine. My only quibble is her having to frequently brush her bangs back from her face, perhaps a side part or semi-up do would solve that problem.
My favorite part of this forum was hearing Meghan saying that women don’t need to find their voices but need to be empowered to use them and others need to learn to listen. I could not agree more and am encouraged that perhaps we as a society are at a turning point, a point where all voices, male/female, young/old can be heard. Also, this forum highlighted what a great public speaker Meghan is and what an asset that will be for her going forward in her new royal role.

I agree – Meghan’s words were very powerful and inspiring! We can’t wait to see what is next!

Hi Lauri!
I agree the shoes were so lovely, I think I’m going to have to purchase one of the pairs that MM suggested! I also have been dying to see Meghan wear her hair half up half down, I think it would be great for engagements! I absolutely loved her comments on women’s empowerment, I think she is the perfect foil for the quiet confidence of the Duchess of Cambridge!

I loved the color of the dress on her and thought the shape/design was perfect for the occasion. I have a feeling some might criticize the lack of sleeves, but I think she looked appropriate and it was a nice balance to Kate’s equally pretty blue dress.

They complimented each other beautifully! Do you think they planned to wear blue together?
Iris says
I wondered that as well! I think they did discuss all wearing shades in the blue family for solidarity!

Love the entire look, especially her hair… I had to wonder if she might have been cold, it’s freezing today in the UK!
Christine | Editor of Meghan's Mirror says
She must have worn a coat at some point, but its a mystery! Stay warm!
Lauri says
I wondered the same thing! It’s rather cold and windy where I live and while I’m bundled up in long sleeves, cozy sweaters and boots, my office mate is wearing short sleeves with peep toe booties. I guess some people don’t feel the cold as much as we do. Lucky ducks!

We saw photos of Kate arriving, bundled in a warm navy coat, so it’s very likely Meghan had one on for her arrival as well – just wasn’t snapped wearing it! A complete wild guess might be this Mackage coat: http://www.meghansmirror.com/product/mackage-double-breasted-military-maxi-coat/ (it’s one of the few navy ones she owns!) 🙂
