Today, Meghan visited the Royal Variety charity’s Brinsworth House, a residential nursing home in Twickenham. The Christmas visit brightened the day of the many residents who are cared for at Brinsworth House.
The Royal Variety Charity is one of the Queen’s official patronages, but perhaps a cause that Meghan may adopt as her own patronage in the coming months. We eagerly await an update on the charitable causes Meghan will support in her role as a Duchess!
Meghan’s look was a winter floral ensemble in muted tones. The fitted, paneled Brock Collection dress showed off Meghan’s growing baby bump, while the Soia and Kyo coat kept her warm and cozy.

What did you think of Meghan’s look for visiting Brinsworth House?
Josephine Allison says
Meghan looks the part for this visit, grey coat most suitable. But I felt the dress looked too summery and the bag wasn’t the right colour and was overwhelmed by the coat. Hair and makeup impeccable. Doing a great job though going solo.
Pam says
I totally agree. Love the coat and her hair was perfect–the dress was a miss.
Brenda McTaggart says
The coat is lovely. But – I am not fond of the way the dress pulls on the bust and thighs.

MM looks beautiful as always. It was a fun surprise to see her step out in a print, which is so rare for her. I continue to believe that she is further along in her pregnancy than we were led to believe back in October. I hope she and Harry are able to enjoy a beautiful holiday season!
Chelsea says
I always REALLY want to like what Meghan wears, but this dress is not great. It is not at all seasonal, it wrinkles badly, and it is way too tight. On the bright side, I love the coat, her head looks amazing, and most importantly, the visit seems to have been a great success. Meghan is so great at her job, I just wish she could get some better help in the clothing department!

So lovely to see Duchess Meghan again, and a worthwhile cause she’s attending as well.
Let me start with what I love. I love the cool pale grey and pink palette, which suits her cooler light brown skin beautifully. I am a big fan of the Aquazurra Denueve pumps and love the grey shade as well. The Grey Maxi wrap coat is very pretty and works with the color palette. The Oyster clutch is also perfect for the outfit. Keeping the hair in a sleek bun and simple makeup in cool tones was the right way to add the finishing touch.
Unfortunately I don’t like floral prints on me or other people really (some of you may note that about my posts) and I don’t like the shape or cut of the upper part of the dress. But all is all, it looks like it was a successful solo visit and she looks very happy as the baby Sussex bump grows along. 🙂

Meghan looks radiant as always, pregnancy certainly agrees with her. I really like this dress and hope to see it again post-pregnancy. That being said, I think it’s time she switches to maternity wear. The designer described this dress as “slim fitting” so probably not made for a growing baby belly 🙂 In regards to the short sleeves and open back, if her pregnancy is anything like mine she might be running rather warm or prone to hot flashes. As someone who always runs very cold I loved feeling warm and cozy during my pregnancies.
Natatat says
Yes, I have to agree. The overall look of the outfit is lovely, but the dress seems pretty clearly too tight…not meant for a pregnant stomach.
Bertie says
Nursing homes are generally very warmly heated, other staff members were in short sleeves or sleeveless. Meghan dressed for circumstances to that extent.
Shersha says
Meghan looks so beautiful and yes she is definitely glowing. I also love this dress and her hair and makeup are gorgeous. I disagree with the “time to switch to maternity wear”. I know several women who never wore maternity wear right up until they gave birth. There are no rules that say pregnant women need to wear maternity wear. Several colleagues of mine only wore clothes that were a size or two larger throughout their entire pregnancies. It is great to see Meghan so happy despite the horrific negativity that has come against her.

MM certainly has the pregnancy glow! Glad to see that she truly seemed to enjoy the event. Sadly, the dress is a big miss for me. The fit is far, far too tight, and pastel floral for a Christmas party is odd. There are many seasonal dresses that would show off her beautiful bump and fit far better.
OG SG says
I agree with a lot of commenters here. The coat is great, but the dress is way too summery. I also agree that it is time to switch to maternity wear, because in other pictures, the back is WAY too tight and creates bulges (something I never thought I would ever say about Meghan, even pregnant). Stretchy wrap dresses would be a good look on her right now.
I also LOVE the hair like that and I am generally not wild at all about center parts. But it looks good on her.

Love the coat, love the dress, but not together and I don’t love the dress for this time of year, or the event. But I do like the dress – I swear.
Dear Duchess, please buy proper maternity clothes, looking at you wearing that dress is making MY boobs hurt. A ‘regular’ dress cannot be asked to accommodate such a pregnant body without pulling and looking sloppy, which this does.
Imogen says
There are so many lovely dark floral midi dresses in the British high street shops at the moment which would have been so much more appropriate for the occasion and the time of year. The British high street could do with some support at the moment!
SR says
Love the coat, shoes and her hair. She looked lovely. The dress was a miss for me. It’s a lovely dress though, just too summer-y for me.
Karen says
The dress is the wrong size. Look at the back of it. I mean it’s a total miss and there’s zero excuse for that. I agree the gray coat, shoes, bag and her hair look great. I just can’t fathom why anyone, famous or not, would not wear a dress that fits suitably on a growing pregnancy. It’s just not that hard to find an dress that works. I also think she is almost 7 months pregnant so hopefully we will see a wee one sooner rather than later!
AP says
I wanted to like this but I just can’t. This is a spring (or summer) dress and the back is cut quite low, not at all appropriate for the occasion. My instinct is that she will refuse maternity wear until the last possible moment. Perhaps not even then. Does anyone know if Jessica is behind every single outfit?
SY says
Loved the hair and the coat, but I too felt the dress was a bit too spring-like. I’m also not a fan of the makeup again, I wish she would go back to the lighter more natural look, the blush on her cheeks is too pronounced for my taste.
