Meghan's Mirror

Chronicling the Chic, Classic and Casual Style Duchess of Sussex (the former Meghan Markle)

Meghan & Harry Attend Invictus Garden Party

Meghan and Harry attended a private garden party for the Invictus Foundation. The party celebrated the many financial supporters of the Invictus Games who made this year’s events possible.

The event was held in the late afternoon at Government House in Sydney. There were very few pictures of the event, which was private and unannounced by the palace, so we had a difficult time sourcing pictures and identifying Meghan’s fashion pieces. Here’s the scoop we have so far:

Shoes: Aquazzura “Deneuve” Pumps in Taupe
Dress: Jason Wu Ruched Neck Cross Dress
Clutch: Jimmy Choo “J Box” Clutch

The dress is lovely and I hope to see it again. The shoes are a no for me with this.

It’s basic black but I love it ! Personally strappy black sandals would have been better but looks like she has got a kind of capsule going on with shoes, so limited choice. They got the hairstyle right with this one too – up and off the shoulders to showcase the neckline. Lovely!

I absolutely LOVE when the Duchess wears dresses that accent her shoulders. Jason Wu is one of my favorite designers as well, so the dress is a win for me, and one of my favorite looks she’s had for the tour. The sleek bun also serves to highlight the dress and collarbone, so this was also a great choice.

Her Aquazzura Deneuve Bow heels in Taupe are just as gorgeous as her black ones, and a nice way to change up the look and lengthen the leg when she may be feeling a little more wide now because of her changing middle section.

    She looks gorgeous!

Does anyone else think that Meghan seems to be overdressed for this occasion? The men aren’t even wearing ties and the other lady in the group is wearing a very casual outfit. It’s a lovely dress but an odd choice for a woman with a baby bump.
It’s a sheath and not really cut to flatter a burgeoning waistline. I also agree that a strappy sandal would have been a better choice with this dress. I like the fact that she wore her hair in a polished style and abandoned the “strands” this time.

The shoes don’t look like “French rose” on the photo for me. More taupe than rose. May it be that Meghan has a third pair of these aquazurra deneuve pumps?
