What did you think of Meghan’s look departing for Fiji?
Okay, I am going to write this comment and I hope it is allowed on the post. Today’s outfit J. Crew shirt, jeans, some cool flats (that really didn’t go with the black jeans) is just okay. I have found the majority of MMs outfits during this tour to be uninspiring and frankly a little sloppy looking. The flimsy Pineapple Reformation striped sundress was kind of embarrassing. Cheap looking and slit up the side, Meghan is for all intended purposes a representative of the British crown but looked like someone headed to the beach, not to a meet and greet with a country’s government official. I realize she is trying to give off a casual Meghan vibe but this really missed the mark in my opinion. She has access to all the fashion brands in the world and she chooses this dress: it’s not as if she can’t find something with sleeves or a lining! The polka dot dress was inexpensive and it looked it. The Sarah Flint sandals are not that flattering and made her feet look rather big. Let’s not get me started with the black jeans and high heels! Please, I don’t want to fashion time travel back to the disco era: especially this look! It’s bad enough the designers are forcing the oversized boyfriend blazers of the 90s. When I open this blog I see the great casual Megan of the past, denim, camel coats, simple sweaters, cute flats…where has she gone?
I second this.
I third this!
I agree. She is representing the crown and should be more aware of her role by now. She is either receiving poor advice or is stubbornly doing her own thing. Either way it’s all been rather a let down
You have great points. I love a blazer……but I’m with you in hoping the boyfriend blazer stays in the past where it belongs. The mules are stunning but really the only thing worth mentioning on this particular outfit.
I disagree. I think her outfits overall have been pretty appropriate for the settings and suited her. The polka dot dress for example she was wearing when she had no events/engagements. It would have been over the top to dress more formal during her private time. A casual but well fitting dress was appropriate in my opinion.
The blazer we’ll just have to disagree on….that is the style now for blazers. Fitted blazers aren’t so in style at the moment. Having not lived through the 70’s, I personally like the looser blazer as it’s a fresh concept to me.
The striped dress though was a definite mistake. She was meeting the public, though in a casual setting, and should have worn a more polished dress with a more appropriate hemline.
Thank you for writing this. I COMPLETELY agree with all of this.
Casual and comfy Duchess Meghan!
I always love relaxed white button down shirts that Meghan wears, and this one you can tell just lets her breath and relax with her pregnancy moving along. It’s a very laid back informal look, but as we’ll see, she’s not done wearing her amazing formal frocks.
Of course, the centerpiece of the outfit are the Aquazurra flats, which are AMAZING! I love the color and the detail on top. These are truly a special accessory. I’m falling more and more in love the the Aquazurra brand…
Any luck identifying the sunglasses she’s wearing here?
The sunglasses look to be the Ray Ban Highstreet (RB4259) sunglasses she wore shortly around the time of her wedding.
