When we saw Meghan Markle on her wedding day, one of the the first things you could notice was the happiness beaming off her face. She was a radiant bride, glowing with happiness and inquiring minds just had to know… What were the magical products that she and makeup artist Daniel Martin used to accentuate her natural beauty?
Luckily for us, Meghan and Daniel have worked together for years, and even shared their secrets for Meghan’s flawless look in archives on the Tig. Don’t worry – the Tig might be shut down but our revival of their archives lives on – including today’s post on Daniel and Meghan’s “Secrets to a Flawless Face”.
With the Tig having shut down, we were saddened that several years of archives – including amazing tips from Meghan herself on her fashion & beauty choices – would be lost to the depths of the internet. We were able to track down the archives and today we’re sharing them with you in today’s instalment of the Meghan’s Mirror Tig Throwback Thursdays series.
It should have come as no surprise that Meghan chose Daniel Martin to do her makeup for her BIG day. Daniel even shared a post of himself getting ready – in Dior, no less – for the wedding on his Instagram.
Meghan was an unabashed fan of Daniel’s, sharing:
Press events require you to look dolled up. Getting dolled up requires hair and makeup. Hair and makeup requires a glam team. The best half of that equation is undoubtedly celebrity makeup artist, Daniel Martin. I love this man, and not in that industry way of saying you “love” someone as casually as you order your macchiato. I actually love this guy. He paints the faces of everyone from Jessica Alba and Kate Bosworth to Veronica Webb and Elettra Wiedemann. And while all of that has a particular “ooh-ah-oh” factor that is coupled with his mastery of makeup, that’s not what impresses me most about Daniel — not even close. Trumped by all, is the fact that he’s just an amazing person.
So what were those magical secret products that Daniel shared, and that were also favourites of Meghan’s?
The flawless face products are:
- TATCHA Luminous Deep Hydrating Serum – “Due to its humectants and essential oils to moisturize skin, I like to use this as a complexion “magnet” to lock down foundation for long hours of wear. Its also great to hold in moisture during long flights, calming down sunburned skin and use under your favorite moisturizer for more hydration.”
- GIORGIO ARMANI Luminous Silk Foundation – “This foundation will forever be a staple in my kit for its versatility in front of the camera and in real life.”
- HOURGLASS Corrective Concealer – “This non drying stick concealer covers anything from blemishes to bruises with its buildable coverage and versatile texture.”
- SHU UEMURA Face Powder Matte – “Ultra light powder diffuses and cuts the shine without looking too flat.”
- CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder – “This powder brightens and warms up skin without the look of bronzer. A matte, “lit-from-within” radiance that every one needs from this long dull winter!”

Thank you for this beautiful post! I am really wondering, how can you reach the Tig’s archieves?

Thanks for a great post MM!!! As a face product junkie, these are my favorite (and most costly 🙂 ) kinds of posts! I was able to order a sample size of the Tatcha Rice Enzyme cleansing powder, that Meghan has used before, and I love it and will be ordering the full size soon. I think I’ll order the Tatcha Hydrating serum as well, it’s super dry where I live and I’m always on the look out for a great hydrator.
Thanks for all the hard work and research you put into these posts MM, it’s really appreciated!

I love these throwback TIG posts, and anything beauty-related when it comes to Meghan makes me pay extra attention.
Since hearing her raves about several of the products above over the years, I can personally vouch for the following which I use and am devoted to now thanks to Meghan
1. Talika Eye Therapy Patch
2. Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion (Buy this in BULK!) it is amazing and not expensive.
3. MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy
4. Leonor Greyl Hair Oil
5. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (This is seriously one of the very best foundations on the market – hands down)
5. Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Balm
6. Cynthia Rowley Valentine Creamy Lip Stain (This pink shade is so flattering and moisturizing while still having a satin finish)
