Perfect!!! The tan midi-skirt and black turtleneck were perfect for the day’s events. She looked appropriate but a bit casual, matching Harry’s tie-less, casual vibe. I’m not always a fan of the midi-length anything but the way she styled this skirt was perfect. Gosh I’m saying “perfect” a lot but if the word fits… lol
I must have this purse, I must!!! Fortunately for my pocketbook it’s currently out of stock in this color, phew! lol
I loved how happy and at ease both Harry and Meghan appeared to be. I imagine for Meghan having thousands of people lining the streets, in the cold, waiting to see you must be a bit surreal but she handled it brilliantly.
Thanks MM for getting this post up so fast!!

I thought it was canny the way she recycled a bit of Canada in the coat and yet picked out some great British names., I’ve been using Wolford products so long I’d assumed they were British, but I think they’re based in Austria, to my surprise. But Joseph is just dead cool and the black-and-tan combo is a classic. And I have just seen 30 pages of bags to look through on that Strathberry site — heaven!!

I can’t believe how exciting this all is and that it’s happening for real — Meghan has truly arrived! Thank you for such speedy first-rate ID’s, I see y our blog being quoted everywhere, congratulations.
Meghan has worked a classic coat/skirt/turtleneck outfit here, and given it her own twist. I love seeing her use such an old brand as Wolford, one even I’ve heard of and use frequently, and am in awe of her debuting a new British label in that divine tote. And going to Joseph for the skirt is just pure class.
And the Meghan twist? For me it lies in the raw hem of the skirt, the cone-shaped heels on those boots and that cheeky pop of colour on the inside fold of the tote. Worked like a pro.
It feels like an epoch-making day in UK royal history, Harry has opened so many doors by choosing such a bride — what a credit it is to the Royal family that they can win such amazing women as Kate, Sophie, and now Meghan, over to their side. And what a credit to this couple to see such a mixed range of supporters out to greet them from warm-hearted Nottingham. I always thought that Harry finding a partner would shift power over to Kensington Palace and away from Clarence House, but it feels as if there are some big social changes on the cards to be promoted here as well. Bring it on!

My only quibble about this outfit is extreme slouch of the boots, I love the heel but since these are over the knee boots I surprised that they slouch so much. I think with the slight flare of the skirt coupled with the slouchy boot it kinda makes a bit bottom heavy, if you know what I mean. Yes, I realize I’m being extremely nit picky and that I did write above that I think this outfit is perfect and I still do just have that one little quibble 🙂 Now perhaps these boots don’t slouch so much when worn with jeans, you know just a bit more girth around the leg to hold them up.
I agree Bertie, we are seeing history in the making today!! After seeing some rather mixed feelings online about Harry & Meghan, it was great to see such a wide range of supporters here, as you said. It says so much about this couple and how people might really feel when not hiding behind their online anonymity.

I noticed the rumpled boot ankles too but had come down on the side of thinking it just made the outfit more Cossack/Russian princess, perhaps. Tbh I was more surprised that they were over the knee as such risqué undertones are unusual for royal purposes.
I did wonder whether the rumpled effect was due to wearing them below knee, though that doesn’t make much sense to me as I’d have thought they could then become uncomfortable to walk, and Meghan looks to be moving around quite uninhibited by bulky boot leather. Afraid I can’t see how they could work with jeans, but maybe I’m just out of the loop on this one!
As you say, the overall outfit is terrific, and like you I’m relieved at the amount of positive feedback for Meghan there’s been.
