Meghan and Harry began the New Zealand leg of their Royal Tour. They landed in Auckland after their three-hour flight aboard a Royal New Zealand Air Force 757. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and other local dignitaries.
Following their arrival at the airport, they departed for Government House, where they received a ceremonial welcome. The ceremony included a Hongi greeting, a haka performance, and a 21-gun salute.
Following the official ceremonial welcome, Meghan and Harry took part in an official Wreath Laying Ceremony at the National War Memorial. They went on a brief walkabout to meet the thousands of locals who had come out to see them.
