Meghan and Harry made a surprise appearance at the #SpotifyStreamOn event, via vide recording filmed in their Montecito home. Meghan and Harry spoke about the importance of using their platform to lift the voices of others, a key goal in their Archewell podcast.
Meghan and Harry announced their Archewell podcast through Spotify in 2020, and released a Christmas special episode in December. The first episode of their regularly-occurring series will hopefully be revealed soon!
Meghan looked ethereal in an Oscar de la Renta lemon-print dress. Although the dress was non-maternity, the trapeze-style shape was perfect for accommodating her pregnancy.
Dress: Oscar de la Renta ‘Primavera’ Lemon Dress
Bracelets: TBC, believed to be her Monica Vinader friendship bracelet, Cartier ‘Love’ bangle, and Cartier ‘Tank’ watch
Ring: Ecksand Pink Sapphire Cocktail Ring

I love the lemon print and the soft blue/gray color of the dress. The blue/gray color looks phenomenal on her. I’d love to see her wear the color in a solid shirt or dress. The lemon print is pretty on her too, and her face is beautiful and glowing. I’m not a fan of the shape of skirt and how it sticks out even as she’s sitting down. I would probably dislike it even more if she were standing up. It’s a hard dress shape to pull off, even for someone like Meghan. And the price tag is eye popping. I know it’s normal for celebrities and royalty to wear expensive haute couture, but Harry and Meghan are trying to position themselves more as philanthropists than celebrities. I wouldn’t quibble about it so much if this was for a red carpet event or speaking engagement, but it feels especially tone deaf to wear a $3,500.00 dress on your couch while the world is still reeling from the Pandemic.

I disagree that Meghan can’t wear what she wants when she wants. Meghan always pays attention to what’s going on in the world, and even before she met Prince Harry, she has dedicated herself to giving back to others, which does not mean she needs to deny herself from enjoying the fruits of her labor by wearing what she pleases. She puts a focus on wearing ethical brands, and during the South Africa tour, she consciously downplayed glamour and wore simple, non-flashy outfits, and some re-wears. Plus, she made sure on one occasion to wear an African print by an African designer. She is no longer a working member of the British royal family. She can dress up or dress down at her leisure. And during the pandemic, it’s a good thing to dress up at home sometimes and make some days at home special.
Meghan can afford to wear whatever she desires at whatever price. She’s not flaunting anything. It’s everyone else looking closely and obsessing over what she wears and how much everything costs. She has worked hard and diligently throughout her life, and at the same time, she’s been giving back to others since the age of thirteen, and caring about and advocating for women’s causes since the age of 12. Furthermore, Meghan believes in the adage, “Lift while you climb.” That is exactly what M&H are doing via their Archewell Foundation, and what they have done for others even before they met. Together, they are an important force for good in the world. I’m not sugarcoating anything either. I don’t think M&H are perfect, and I don’t think they act as if they are either. They do seem to get up every day and put their best feet forward. That they can do it in style is a blessing, one that they have both earned. Life is not easy for anyone. In my view, they are both inspiring role models. Everyone can aspire, no matter what hardships we are facing on a human level.
M&H put their money where their words, hearts, and passions are. They have recently given money to a damaged women’s shelter in Texas, and they have announced the construction of a World Central Kitchen and culinary program in Dominica, developed to help feed that country’s citizens during emergency crises and natural disasters. Check out their Archewell Foundation website to keep track of all the wonderful humanitarian initiatives they are currently working on.
I think this is such a lovely dress on Meghan, and so beautifully made. I love the Spring-like lemon theme with the green leaves. Another Meghan site shows close-up detail of the embroidery on the dress. I also love that gorgeous pale ruby ring by Ecksand (a Canadian ethically-made jewelry brand).

I absolutely love the lemon print on this dress! She looks beautiful, and her hair looks so thick! Pregnancy suits her. She inspires me so much. I have been dreaming forever about taking acting classes, but did not do it because there were too many negative outside opinions on it. I was so worried about what others would say. I have finally decided to let the negativity and fear go, at 34 years old, and I am starting class in a few weeks! I’m so excited…and nervous, haha. Definitely Meghan’s positive attitude and confidence have influenced me for the better. Thanks for another post Meghan’s Mirror, have a fantastic weekend everyone!

^^ Congratulations @b! That’s wonderful you have decided to push forward and pursue an interest you have hesitated about previously. How cool that Meghan is an inspiration for you. 🙂 Both Harry & Meghan are such down-to-earth inspiring role models for a lot of people. Good luck and enjoy! Just setting out on a path that means a lot to you is so very important, even more-so than the destination you arrive at. Soak up all the moments along the way!
I believe the Oscar de la Renta lemon print dress is close to being sold out. There are variations of it as well, all very high-priced of course by de la Renta’s fashion house. An online People magazine article has made some additional low cost suggestions, with pieces that are available on Amazon, including lemon print wrap dresses by LuLu and Msbasic, and a lemon-print on black background long-sleeved button-up shirt with collar. Doing an Internet search for ‘lemon print dresses’ will also bring up some options, including some minis and a cute two-piece outfit consisting of strapless gathered top (slightly midriff-baring) with a midi skirt.

The dress Meghan was wearing as seen on mobile phone screen during the James Corden episode, was identified correctly by Meghan;s Fashion site, and confirmed by the brand, Velvet Torch, on Instagram. In looking at the dress on the model, It seems as if it is possibly a close fitting dress on Meghan (perhaps in a larger size than she normally wears. But it is still cut for close-fitting, which styles she wore a lot of during her first pregnancy. The other style suggestions cited by MM and What Meghan Wore sites are quite good guesses, but no cigar!
