Meghan and Harry touched down in Morocco this evening for their three-day visit to the North African country. Harry and Meghan took a commercial flight this evening, which resulted in an hour-plus delay. When they finally arrived, they were greeted by the British Ambassador to Morocco and his wife at Casablanca Airport, where Prince Harry inspected a Guard of Honour.
Meghan and Harry returned to the royal residence of King Mohammed VI to settle in for the evening privately, as they have a full schedule for tomorrow’s visit to Asni!
Meghan’s look was bright, bold, and beautiful for tonight’s arrival. The stunning red hue popped on the runway and stood out brightly for the inspection of the Guard of Honour. Red is a vital color to Morocco’s culture, and features prominently on the nation’s flag. The silhouette of this dress, a bespoke design from Valentino, complimented Meghan’s growing figure while also lending a flirty, 1960’s vibe.

Great to see them on another royal tour! Love that the DoS is wearing red in honor of the hosts. That said, while I like the dress, I’m not a fan of the design on the cape.

I think those pumps are the ones she wore to Prince Charles 70th Birthday garden party? I love this look, the red paired w/ blush pink accessories, love the cape with embroidery: it reminds of Jackie O, she looks regal and elegant. This piece, the trapeze elements very 60s, even the way her hair is styled, I see that’s what she’s going for as a diplomat’s wife, plus I kinda see it as a design from Dior more than Valentino so I was surprised at that. The cape; the way it designed I was thinking it should go around her shoulders like the cape dress she wore with the Queen. But then someone said it was a detachable that she can take off and wear over something else, which was smart and would love see to her wear it again with a red dress.

Well, ladies, we have a “maternity” dress! I would expect that she would respect the hosts and reject a body-conscious style. I like the color but not a fan of the capelet or the “embroidery” detail. The clutch is really beautiful! Wow, a fashionista’s dream with the prominent Valentino “V”! But I don’t get the gloves. She is not wearing them and it would be cumbersome to have to remove them in order to shake hands.

I am so glad that they have arrived safely after the delayed flight. Red is a beautiful colour on Meghan and this Valentino dress is stunning. This look reminds me very much of Jackie Kennedy Onassis and along with the white Calvin Klein outfit that she wore to the museum, is my favourite pregnancy outfit that she has worn. Valentino has always been one of my favourite designers and the few pieces that I own from the fashion house are impeccably made and timeless. I also prefer the looser fit of this dress over her pregnant stomach and the hair and makeup again, beautiful. I cannot wait to hear more about their visit to Education for All and the work being done to ensure that young girls have access to education.

I…like the color. But, although I love capes usually, I am not a fan of this weird style. And I hate how the dress fits…it is kind of tent-y. I was definitely one of those that was annoyed by the pulling and bunching of her clothes that did not accommodate her bump at all, but there has to be a happy medium between that and formal muumuu?

Exactly what I was thinking!

With the gloves, she is giving homage to her grand-mother-in-law, who happens to be the Queen, and who always wear or carry gloves on these diplomatic occasions. Additionally, some Muslim men prefer not to touch the flesh of a woman hand to hand. Had they been required, her companion would have said so and she would have had them in case. As for the fit of her dress, it was lovely. It seems some have not caught up with the style for pregnant women. What they call “clingy” is worn by many pregnant women all over the world. It’s your personal choice if you think it not apropos, but accept that most do not agree with you. Then when she finally wears a full dress, we get crits from a few ( thank goodness) saying it looks like a tent. These are to be ignored. Understand, muumuus are gone and in fashion forward countries, hardly anyone wears them anymore. Women are not hiding their stomachs behind voluminous yards of cloth, but are proud of their pregnant bodies. The red outfit was wonderful, regal, and absolutely right in every way. The embroidery gave it just enough decorative addition to not go overboard and still met the Moroccans love for color and texture. She looks as she should, beautiful and every inch a HRH, Duchess and companion to the emissary for the Queen.

Wow, thanks ever so much for the correction and chastisement.

What to say about this gorgeous outfit! I think it’ll become one of her classics. The cape is so her, chic and modern, and it adds such nice detail and structure to the trapeze-style maternity dress. It is her most regal outfit yet, and looks royal without looking too “English arose.” It’s all Meghan. She wears vintage-inspired looks wonderfully, and I think what makes this so “iconic” is its Jackie O vibes. Such a hit! She looos so beautiful.
Lauri says
Oh my, this dress/capelet is gorgeous!!! And the color suits Meghan so well!! As much as I like her neutral wardrobe, it’s exciting to see her in such a stunning color. I’m also loving her contrasting shoes and purse, imho they are a perfect foil for color of this dress.
Karen says
Perfection. A classic look.
Anna says
Agreed.

Absolute Perfection! My favorite maternity style to date! Love EVERYTHING about this look.
The Duchess is gorgeous and shows such poise and elegance in the arrival video. Prince Harry must surely be proud of his beautiful wife!
Ava Pittman says
The Duchess looks beautiful. Love the colour. This maternity dress is gorgeous, really like the cape effect across the shoulders. This dress fits her appropriately. She looks elegant and regal. Absolutely love the added gloves, on or off doesn’t matter, that is how they use to wear them back in the day, my dear mum use to carry her gloves, occasionally she would put them on, she use to say it finished the outfit off! Accessory colour terrific.
Josephine says
Meghan really nails it in this stunning late pregnancy Valentino dress in red, a nod to her hosts. Shoes and bag match perfectly, sleek hair and makeup beautiful.
E says
I think she looks gorgeous as usual and I think the earrings are her natalie marie sun studs. Also, can’t wait to see her be her awesome self in Morocco.
Ktee says
Wow!! LOVE this look! The dress is very regal yet modern. I hope she wears that cape again sometime down the road, its beautiful. The trapeze fit is also a nice departure that she wears well.
Pam says
Love this look and her hair/accessories are perfect.
