After a busy morning of engagements, Meghan had a change of clothes after lunch at the Social Enterprise Café before heading to visit Albert Park Primary School and heading to the South Melbourne Beach.
We were so happy to see that Meghan wouldn’t be navigating the beach in her suede heels! She made a quick outfit change.
Shoes: Black Rothy’s Flats (as seen on Day 1!)
Dress: Club Monaco Miguelina Black Dress
Earrings: Unknown, oval navy blue earrings
Bracelet: Shaun Leane Signature Bangle
Bracelet: Pearl Bracelet with black beads, TBC (she picked it up on the tram ride!)
Coat: Martin Grant Trench Coat
Clutch: Gucci ‘Sylvie’ Clutch

This is the most “Meghan” yet! Love it. It’s a nice reprise if her day one outfit when she briefly changed into flats. I love how the outfit looked on her then; so I’m glad to see it make a full appearance here! The black dress with gold buttons couldn’t be more perfect on her. This is truly classic Meghan!

We also loved the gold buttons and the choice of dress. AND the flats! We were so worried about her suede pumps on the sand! LOL

I wonder if she’s experiencing morning sickness. She looks healthy and well! And happy!!

I thought she looked a bit tired from time to time today. I’m glad that the schedule gives her time to relax in the evening, even if she’s reading briefing packs at least she can put her feet up.

How appropriate that she wore Rothy’s flats at an event where the big topic was plastic waste. I have two pair of Rothy’s and I just love them, although just a warning both pair are the same style and fit very differently, ones just a hair too tight. I appreciate how Meghan selects her clothing, going for designers that are working not only to make clothes that women feel great in but are working to make life better for others. It’s definitely inspired me to take a good hard look at the items I select and will try to steer away from more “disposable” pieces and instead start going for pieces that are made ethically and from designers that help others.
I agree with Danielle, this dress is very “Meghan”, I just wish we could have seen it without the trench coat on. It’s funny Danielle that you mentioned the gold buttons in particular as I just got a black blazer with gold buttons on the cuff that I’m thinking about removing, the bright gold buttons just bug me! lol!
Danielle says
Lol! Fair enough! I think I’d do the same but here, on Meghan’s dress, the gold buttons down the side add enough visual interest to keep it from being “another black dress.” Not sure I’d keep them them on a blazer though, lol! Though now that Meghan’s done it… 🙂
Lauri says
I agree Danielle, the buttons on this dress aren’t the bright gold horrors that are on my blazer ? and they do provide a nice visual interest point. The more I think about the buttons on my blazer the more I’m thinking about changing them out for either dark, tortoise shell buttons or white pearl buttons.
Danielle says
White pearl is so classic! Though Meghan has inspired me in a lot of monochromatic fashion – so dark buttons on a black blazer would be so chic. 🙂

Love love LOVE Rothy’s! And they’re great for the beach – machine washable, so you can look great without worrying about ruining them. I bought my first pair a year ago and they still look brand new. So much fun to see Meghan wearing them – I feel very regal, haha.

Non-fashion question for those following the tour (since I’d like to keep up with the work they are doing): does Melbourne/Australia have an issue with environmental conservation, or is it simply a major focus for them due to their marine environment? Let me know if anyone has been able to follow!
OG SG says
I like the dress a lot but both of them are dressed really oddly for a beach outing. Lol.

Who wears a dress and a trenchcoat to the beach? Where’s her friend Jessica Mulroney who is supposedly a stylist? Pair the flats with a pair of cropped skinny trousers and a cute striped top it off with a blazer! Don’t wish to sound too snarky but this would have been a perfect opportunity to wear a cute casual outfit. She looks as if she is headed to an office job.
Imogen says
I agree. Her outfit for walking through the Botanic Gardens looked like a cocktail party outfit (stilettos on grass again!) and the one for the beach was truly bizarre. I used to live in Melbourne and I never saw anyone dress like that for walking along the beach!
