For their second set of engagements, Meghan and Harry visited MacArthurs Girls School, taking in performing arts presentations from the students and meeting with girls at the school.
Meghan wore the same outfit to later that evening meet with the Australian Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition.
Meghan changed into her second outfit of the day (look one is here) to take in the performance and meet with the delightful young ladies of the school. We’re LOVING the hairstyle, and the dress is one of the style stars of the tour thus far for us. Yes, it’s yet another navy dress – but the pop of colour and the fact that the Duchess of Sussex is sticking true to her personal style as she progresses into her pregnancy are something that we are loving to see.
Dress: Roksanda ‘Athena’ Midi Dress
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman ‘Legend’ Pumps
Earrings: Birks Bee Chic Earrings in Blue Topaz
Bracelet: Birks Rosée du Matin White Gold Flex Bracelet

Another navy dress…sigh. And it likely won’t be last!

Agree. Time to embrace COLOUR please! Enough of black, navy, olive green white, etc.

We’d LOVE to see some colour on Meghan too (we’re especially rooting for green, like her engagement dress!)
Lisa says
I’ve accepted her color palette choice and don’t except a red dress or anything like that. I just wish the dress could have been another color in that palette. I actually really loved the blush outfits we saw her in after the wedding. My only quibble then, as is now, was that DoS wore like 3 or 4 ‘blush’ outfits in a row. While they were difeerent styles, it was overkill in terms of the color. Just my opinion.

I agree and again the nude blush shoes. She looks very pretty. I have to disagree with posters that say she doesn’t look good in bright colors! She wore a yellow a few months back and she looked great. I don’t think she looks that good navy and blue which flatter rosier skin tones. Also her hair, any comment on the fact that she might wear extensions?
Vinnie Blair says
Take a good look at her pony tail – how smooth it is. No extensions!!

I’m going to apologize right away because I’m going to say it yet again…this is my favorite look of the tour!!! This dress is so elegant and classic and the light blue band keeps in fresh and youthful! I think Meghan needs to wear her hair like this All The Time!!! She’s making me seriously consider growing my hair long again (currently a short pixie) just so I can try this style 🙂
Apparently this event was one of embargoed ones, the students didn’t even know about it ahead of time 🙂 I have a feeling that this event was at the express request of Meghan, the empowerment of women, young and old, is one so very close to her heart. I imagine that the young ladies were thrilled to be hosting the Duke and Duchess for such a special event.
Thanks MM for the great coverage of this royal tour and I hope that you’re taking good care of yourself and getting some time to rest and relax!!

Thanks, Lauri! We both can’t believe it’s *only* day 4, and that 4 days have gone by!
We also want this hair. Stat. Do we need the new Dyson hair curler? 😉
The event was so touching. There was even a fabulous quote that she shared with the girls from the event, ” I went to an all girls school which was incredibly diverse as well. I think being around such empowered young women, it becomes something that you all just grasp onto to understand your world. It’s made you confident, well-spoken. “You have an intention set to really do something to change the world, and you have to keep it up. It makes me so emotional. You’re doing really, really good work and I’m so happy that we’re here. We give you our full support.”
Isn’t that great?

Lovely dress! One of my favorite things about Meghan’s style is that she really sticks to it – the colors, the silhouettes, the brands. She’s so true to herself. Who of us doesn’t frequent our favorite brands and looks? It’s relatable and feels almost attainable.
It’s so nice to see her Birks bracelet, because she owns the same style in a yellow gold ring. I remember, because it was one of the first aspects of her style (pre-engagement) I latched onto, thinking her fashion really was spectacular.
This couldn’t be a prettier, more Meghan look!

The bracelet, ring and whole look from Birks are fantastic. we love how you tie it back to being relatable. Once we know the brands that you love and re comfortable with, it’s so much easier to extend them into your personal style.
Side note:
Dear Men/Women of the World,
This is our Christmas List for 2018. All the Birks. All the Birks all the time.

Yes, I like this about her too, that she sticks to what she likes and is comfortable with. The cuts of the clothes have adapted to her position (more formal/polished/classic silhouettes) but she clearly has a preferred colour palette. We’re not suddenly seeing her in ultra feminine or colourful clothes just because her life has changed. I like seeing her dressing in what she likes, which I get the sense she is doing so far.

I know other people will be mad to see navy again but I like it. I like the combination of a sheath type bodice with a fit and flare skirt, and I have always liked colorblocking. The shoes, though, the shoes. Sigh.
Lauri says
I agree OG SG regarding the navy color, my wardrobe is primarily dark grey, black and white but I’ve added navy about 9 months ago and am really liking it. Meghan, like most of us, has a style, choice of fit and colors that she’s comfortable and confident in and I think she rocks it ?. On a personal note, my sister is always trying to get me to wear more colors but frankly I just don’t feel comfortable wearing bright colors so I stick with what I like.
Stacey says
I love her look. I also noticed that this particular shade of blue, matched perfectly with the girls uniforms, even the colour blocking. Even Harry was on the same colour palette. Could it be a coincidence or did they actually coordinate with the school uniform?
Patty says
I was going to say the same thing. Someone did her homework! I definitely think it was intentional to match the uniforms. Spectacular.
OG SG says
And I just don’t think bright colors are flattering to her skin tone. Neutrals really make her glow, as does the darker green. I do think she could also get away with red or darker purple shades. The only bright color that is particularly flattering to her was that bright yellow dress she wore and that is not a color one can wear often. She know what works for her.

THIS is definitely one of my current favorite looks from the tour. Roksanda Ilincic is one of my favorite European designers (and one of the only ones to become a worldwide known designer from the former ex-Yugoslav). It’s interesting, I’ve noticed over the last several years more and more first ladies, queens and princesses world wide have been wearing her pieces.
Duchess Meghan looks beautiful in this dress. The cut and contrasting lighter blue on the bottom are a nice way to add some additional color to the ensemble. I agree with those of you above who noted that the top of the dress does match the blue to the girls’ uniforms. What a nice way to approach the event! I don’t mind the shoes – all the attention should be on the dress, and this nude shade serves to lengthen her nicely.
Her hair looks amazing in this half-up/half down style, and it’s interesting she doesn’t wear it often (for example she never wore it this way in 6 seasons of Suits). Hopefully after the great response today she will!
I also loved hearing her statement she made to the girls at the school What a compassionate and encouraging message she gave to them! 🙂

This dress is gorgeous on Duchess Meghan!!!! I like that the dress is lined with a different colour.. You can see it when she sat outside the school watching the dance performance.
She wore blue to start her relationship so maybe Hubby loves her in blue and she chose to make it her main colour.
The first time I saw her wearing her hair in half up half down was for her wedding rehearsal and she looked lovely, should wear her hair like this more often.
Pam says
Yes, it’s another navy dress, but she’s sticking to her style, which is fine because it’s simple sophistication. Nothing wrong with that. I do like her hair, even with the annoying side strands, which she has a habit of putting behind her ear. But it looks very age appropriate for her and flattering.

The navy blue dress is another that will last longer in the trend I loved it!!
